Huawei does not forget the mid-range. The P Smart Series of the Chinese company is one of the most interesting in the range of 200 - 300 euros. It offers very good features in a neat design and without neglecting the small details, such as fast charging, USB C or fingerprint reader. The model for next year, and that comes to renew the P Smart 2020, has already been announced. It includes different improvements compared to the previous generation, and here we review them. These are all the news of the Huawei P Smart 2021.
One of the most striking changes is in the design, both at the rear and at the front. The Huawei P Smart 2020 has a more premium look, with an aesthetic very similar to the P40 range. The back is kept in polycarbonate, but with a matte finish instead of glossy. There the quadruple camera stands out, which rises in resolution and is included in a vertical module. We no longer see the fingerprint reader in the center: it moves to the side.
This fingerprint scanner is just below the power button and or block. This causes the terminal to be unlocked immediately after pressing the button to turn it on. The volume button is right in the upper area. Of course, the P Smart 2021 also has USB C and does not lose the headphone jack.
The front also receives news. Huawei eliminates the drop-type notch to include a camera directly on the screen. In this way, we get a feeling of greater use on the front. The camera is a small point located in the upper area and is positioned together with the notification bar, so that it does not interfere when viewing the screen content.

More screen and 5,000 mAh battery
Are there internal changes regarding the Huawei P Smart 2020? Yes, in practically all sections. Now the screen is bigger, has more autonomy, the camera improves and includes EMUI with the Huawei Mobile Servicess.
The 2020 P Smart has a 6.67-inch screen, slightly increasing the size of the previous generation. It is kept in Full HD + resolution and with LCD technology. The processor and RAM configuration of the previous generation is maintained: Kirin 710A chipset with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, a variant that for day-to-day life is not bad at all. In addition, 128 GB of memory as a base version is a very positive point.
What does change is autonomy. Now we have nothing more and nothing less than 5,000 mAh compared to the 3,400 mAh of the previous generation. So the change is very big and it will show in the battery life. With the new P Smart 2020 we can reach two days of use without any problem. In addition, it has a fast charge of 22W.
Two more cameras
From double to quadruple cameras, and from 13 to 48 megapixels. The Huawei P Smart 2021 improves considerably in the photographic section with four improved sensors. The primary camera has a resolution of 48 megapixels. We also find an 8 megapixel wide-angle sensor, with an aperture f / 2.4.
The other two lenses are dedicated to depth of field and macro photography. That is to say, the first camera, which has a resolution of 2 megapixels, helps blur the background to get photos in portrait mode. The fourth and last sensor, also 2 mpx, allows you to focus at close range to capture greater detail on small objects.
Recall that the P Smart 2020 included a 13 megapixel main camera and a 2 mp secondary camera for portrait mode. It didn't even have a wide-angle sensor . The camera for selfies remains the same in both generations: 8 megapixels.
Price and availability
The Huawei P Smart 2020 has been announced in Austria. This means that it reaches the European market, but in Spain it has not yet been put on sale. Taking into account that the previous generation is available in our country, it is likely that by the end of the year it can be purchased in online stores with shipping and warranty in Spain. The price of this model and for a single 4 GB + 128 GB version is 230 euros. It will be available in green, pink and black.
