After the official announcement by Samsung of the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, it is Huawei's turn as regards folding with the Huawei Mate X. And it is that despite the fact that the terminal has not yet been released on the market has been officially announced, the various leaks of the device portend a move similar to that of Samsung. This time it is thanks to several photographs of the device that we can know that its appearance will undergo a redesign that will affect the resistance of its screen and the back, as pointed out by some rumors several weeks ago.
This will be the redesign of the Huawei Mate X to improve the resistance of its screen
Much has been said in recent months about the reliability of folding screens and their resistance to shocks and scratches. We were able to see its result in the Galaxy Fold after the transfer of the first test units, and after the stir caused by Samsung, it seems that Huawei has taken action on the matter to avoid this.
As we can see in the leaked Huawei Mate X images, the screen protector that covers the phone panel is now complete. Apparently, the first units had a protector that covered only the touch surface of the screen. This new protector is integrated with the aim of preventing users from manipulating the sheet in question, as we already saw with the Galaxy Fold.
Another change that the new redesign brings compared to the original design of the phone has to do with the unlock button. By having an integrated fingerprint sensor, Huawei has chosen to increase its size to improve the success rate for users. Remember that like the Galaxy Fold, the latter is integrated into one of the sides of the phone, for lack of space in the margins and the back.
Otherwise, the appearance of the terminal is identical to that of previous versions. It is unknown if Huawei has improved the composition of the screen's protective foil or its resistance to bumps and scratches, although everything points to yes. We will therefore have to wait for the official announcement by Huawei, which is expected to take place over the next few weeks, possibly starting in August.
