The European version of the HTC One M8 from the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is currently receiving a new operating system update. According to the first information, it is an update that responds to the name of 1.54.401.10, and comes in a file that occupies about 67 MegaBytes. It seems to be an update aimed at solving small errors detected by users in recent weeks.
According to the list of improvements and fixed bugs that this update brings, the main improvements seem to be in the camera, in the FM Radio and in the Weather application. On the one hand, the camera application has been slightly improved to offer better stability both when taking pictures and when recording videos. In addition, the FM Radio application has also received minor stability improvements intended to provide better operation of the application.
Since this new update file occupies only 67 MegaBytes, users who want to update their HTC One M8 can use both a WiFi connection and a data rate to download and install the update. In either case, to download the update, all you have to do is navigate to the " Settings " application. Once inside, you have to click on the option " Telephone information " to later click on an option with the name of "System update". From this menu the user can download and install the update without having to connect the mobile phone to the computer at any time. Even so, all these steps are dispensable when the phone notifies us of the update through a small pop-up message; in that case we simply have to follow the instructions that will appear on the screen.
It is also important that we know that the availability of this new update varies depending on the country and depending on whether the mobile that we want to update is completely free or is purchased under an operator. The first mobiles to receive the update are the free terminals, and as the companies authorize the update, the rest of the users will also receive it on their device.
This new update comes amid a storm of rumors related to new versions of the HTC One M8. We have first been talking about the HTC One Mini 2, a compact version of this HTC flagship, but it seems that there is also quite accurate information that points towards the existence of an HTC One M8 Ace. In either case and assuming that the rumors are true, this year we will most likely receive a new smartphone designed from the HTC One M8. Time will tell us if it will be a simpler or cheaper version than the original terminal.
