The latest version of the Android operating system, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, is starting to make its way to the HTC Butterfly S internationally. It is an update of the operating system that occupies a total space of 736 MegaBytes and updates the phone from the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC to version 3.06.708.3. As always happens with updates to the Android operating system, the first users to receive this update will be those who have their smartphone free, while users who have acquired it through an operator will have to wait a few more weeks.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on the HTC Butterfly S brings new features both at the interface level and at the mobile operation level. Regarding the interface, users will find new features such as a renewed notification bar, redesigned icons and other small modifications. On the internal side, in addition to the usual performance improvements, users will also have the ability to use the new document printing service wirelessly.
All those users who want to update the HTC Butterfly S to Android 4.4.2 KitKat without waiting for the notification to appear should follow these steps:
- First we must navigate to the Settings menu of our phone. To do this we simply have to open the list of phone applications and, once inside, look for the application with the name "Settings".
- Within this menu we have to look for the option " About the device ". Since its location depends on the version of the operating system of our phone, we will have to look for this option in the configuration menu (it is usually located at the end). Once inside, we have to click on the option " Software update ".
- When we have clicked on this option, the phone will tell us if the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is already available for download. If the update is available, we will only have to start the download and wait for the phone to install the update in a matter of a few minutes. It is important to remember that the download and installation of the update should only be done with WiFi connectivity activated and having more than 70% autonomy on the battery.
- In the event that the update is not available for our phone at the time of checking, we have no choice but to arm ourselves with patience and wait until we can download it.
Recall that the last update of the operating system that the HTC Butterfly S received was Android 4.3 Jelly Bean back in January of this year.
