The Asus brand claimed in the course of 2017 that it would update its Asus Zenfone 3 terminal the following year to the latest available version of the Android operating system. Said and done, the Taiwanese brand has just announced, as we read on the Android Authority website, that in the second half of this year all Asus Zenfone 3 terminals will progressively begin to receive the long-awaited update to Android 8 Oreo, a latest version with increased notification management, improved battery optimization and Picture in Picture mode.
Android 8 Oreo comes to Asus
The top model, the Asus Zenfone 4, began to receive the update to Android 8 Oreo last December. If you are a holder of the Asus Zenfone 4 you can go and check if you already have the improvement, directly, in the settings of your phone. In addition, Asus has ensured that, at the same time that its terminals are updated to Android 8 Oreo, they will be disabling all the bloatware with which they have been filling their terminals. A substantial improvement, since there are predefined and pre-installed applications by the brands themselves that usually do not serve much more than to hinder the performance of the computer.
To properly update your Asus Zenfone 3 terminal, the brand warns that the user must have at least 1.5 GB of free space available on their terminal. As the file is quite heavy, make sure you also download it when you are connected under a WiFi network, if you don't want to see your data fly or see how your bill increases to unsuspected levels.
Other tips for when your update to Android 8 Oreo arrives
- It is important that you make a backup of all your data. With the installation you should not lose any data but it is better to be safe than sorry later. In addition, it is always convenient to format the mobile when we make an update of such magnitude
- The battery must be fairly full so that there are no surprises during installation. If your mobile is turned off during the installation process, your phone could be rendered useless forever. At a minimum, we recommend an 80% battery in case the process takes longer than normal. And if possible, carry out the installation process with the mobile connected to the electrical network for greater security
