There are three differential values of the iPhone 4S compared to the previous model, the iPhone 4: a more powerful processor - A5 dual-core - a camera with higher resolution and quality in the captures - thanks to the eight megapixel backlit sensor with video function FullHD - and, of course, the virtual assistant that responds to the name of Siri.
The first two options are materially impossible to transfer to previous editions, but not the digital butler, which when working thanks to the software could, theoretically, be exported to the iPhone 4 and even the iPhone 3GS -or the iPad-.
Apple has always denied it, although options related to Jailbreak - or system unlocking - have made it possible to work the miracle. However, and although it would make the latest model of the house phone less attractive, those from Cupertino seem to be working on transferring this application to other devices of the firm.
We have learned this through the specialized Cult of Mac site. The clue comes in the third Beta version -testing- of the next system update of these terminals - iOS 5.1 -, which, as you already know, has been in the hands of the developers who work on this platform for several weeks.
Thus, in the options menu linked to the virtual keyboard of the system, a line has been revealed that refers to the privacy and data policies for dictation commands, something that until now was exclusive to Siri, but that from iOS 5.1 could be extended to iPad, iPod Touch and current versions of the iPhone.
Before throwing the bells on the fly, it is advisable to exercise some caution and bear in mind a couple of considerations. On the one hand, the appearance of this data could respond to an error in the description of options in the configuration menu to which we refer.
It could also be a flaw in the programming of the platform, reflecting part of an exclusive information to the Beta version for iPhone 4S that has been sneaked into the edition of the rest of the devices. So we had better keep our enthusiasm in quarantine until more information is available. After all, it would be very strange if one of the star options of the iPhone 4S made this terminal dull by appearing in previous versions of the device.
