In September 2015, Acer announced a new smartphone with Windows 10. We are talking about the Acer Liquid Jade Primo, an upper-mid-range terminal that is compatible with one of the most important functions of Microsoft's mobile platform: Continuum. After a long wait, the terminal is finally available in Spain.
Windows 10 doesn't just work on computers. Those of Redmond also renewed their mobile operating system months ago and the new version brought some very interesting news. The most prominent was Continuum, a system that allows you to turn your mobile into a kind of desktop computer, connecting it to a screen, a keyboard and a mouse. However, this feature is only available on a few terminals, so few that we can count them on the fingers of one hand.
As pointed out in Pocketnow, there are only four smartphones that offer this interesting function, they are the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, the Acer Liquid Jade Primo and the HP Elite X3. However, the first two are the only ones that have been available for a while, the HP Elite X3 will not arrive until summer and the Acer Liquid Jade Primo has just gone on sale in Europe, which is the news that concerns us. After several months of waiting, in January it was finally possible to reserve, but it was not until April that the Acer Liquid Jade Primo can finally be purchased. At the moment it is only in the Expansys online store, but it is expected to reach other points of sale soon.
Expansys already has stock of the Acer Liquid Jade Primo for Spain and other European countries such as Portugal, Italy, France and Germany, where it can also be purchased at Media Markt. If you were expecting a reasonable price, you see forgetting because the Acer Liquid Jade Primo costs a whopping 600 euros. Its technical profile can be classified between the medium and high ranges, although it is closer to the top mobiles. However, Windows 10 is already a minority platform in itself, and with these prices it does not seem that they will expand their reach.
As we said, Continuum is the star feature of Windows 10 for mobile, and this Acer Liquid Jade Primo offers the full desktop experience in a premium package. Expansys also sells a bundle of various accessories, including a 21-inch monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse, and the docking station for placing the phone. In this case the price rises to 800 euros. If you already have everything you need to take advantage of Continumm (screen, mouse, keyboard…) you will still need the docking station to connect the phone, but taking into account that it costs 100 euros, it is better to opt for the complete pack, since for 100 euros more you get a screen, keyboard and mouse.
The Acer Liquid Jade Primo has a screen AMOLED 5.5 inches and resolution Full HD, processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and 3GB memory RAM. Get your chest out in the photographic section with a 21 megapixel main camera, with double LED flash and capable of recording videos in 4K. The front camera has 8 megapixels and can record Full HD video. Both have a lens with aperture f / 2.2.
