They are two large teams. However, one is classified as a tablet with the ability to make calls, while the other is a hybrid that is halfway between a smartphone and a tablet. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Asus Fonepad Note.
The border between an advanced mobile and a tablet is getting smaller. And with the latest releases it is more than proven. In addition, the public has received good criticism of this type of invention that allows the professional user to forget about having to carry two pieces of equipment. While the home user has found the ideal companion for those daily trips or a large platform to visit Internet pages in total comfort, watch videos, etc.
However, let's see what are the main differences between these two models that we have mentioned above. It should be noted that the Asus model is the most recent, and its price or date of arrival in the Spanish market is still unknown.
Display and layout
The model of the Taiwanese Asus has been presented in white; the Samsung model is available in two shades: white or blue. On the other hand, what most attracts the attention of both teams is their large size, although the Asus terminal is somewhat larger: six inches compared to the 5.5 inches offered by the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
On the other hand, the resolution of both models is also different. And, although both the Asus Fonepad Note and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 offer high definition images, the Asus model manages to achieve Full HD quality (1920 x 1080 pixels). The Samsung Galaxy Note 2, for its part, remains at 1280 x 800 pixels.
Also, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a physical "Home" button, the Asus model features a fully touch-sensitive keypad. For the rest, on the front of the Taiwanese equipment there are two stereo speakers.
Power
The technology that both models use are completely different. And it is that while the oldest model continues to be one of the most powerful equipment on the market, the results that the new Intel platform will give remains to be seen. That is, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 mounts a quad-core processor with a working frequency of 1.6 GHz. For its part, the Asus Fonepad Note will have inside the new Intel dual-core processor with a working frequency of 1.6 GHz. What's more, the chip that makes up the Asus team can also be seen in the new range of tablets used by Samsung, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
On the other hand, both teams will have a RAM of two GigaBytes; that is, two models that will move Google applications and icons in general with ease.
Operating system and applications
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 works under Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean version. And all this under the Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX custom layer. But if there is something that stands out from all this is that the company created dedicated applications so that the client could take full advantage of this equipment and its large screen. Hence, in a way it became the digital notebook par excellence. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is accompanied by a pointer that is also present in other models in the range and that is baptized with the name of S-Pen.
For its part, Asus has done the same with its new model, so the customer will also find a capacitive pointer on the Asus Fonepad Note. In addition, as the company commented during its presentation at the Computex fair in Taipei, the hybrid will come with different applications with which to get the most out of the model. However, Asus has not yet revealed which is the version of the Android mobile platform that its team mounts.
Photo camera
Meanwhile, the photographic part of the two models is given by a primary sensor on the rear with a resolution of eight megapixels. Although be careful, the Asus Fonepad Note does not have a built-in Flash, so it must be taken into account to achieve a place with enough natural lighting; otherwise the result will not be satisfactory. Samsung Galaxy Note 2, meanwhile, has an integrated LED Flash.
On the front there is also a web camera in the Samsung model is 1.9 megapixel and Asus model lowers the maximum resolution to 1.2 Megapixels. Both are intended to make video calls with contacts.
Autonomy
One of the most interesting data when a customer purchases a new terminal is how long the battery will last on a single charge. And while awaiting confirmation from Asus in this regard and how the new Intel platform behaves, Samsung has already shown that the 3,100 milliamp battery of its Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is capable of withstanding more than a full day without need to connect to the electrical network.
