It appears that the update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the HTC One is causing more problems than the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC could imagine. Many users have reported that they are experiencing problems recording videos with sound from their mobile, since it seems that the background noise is only recorded in a single channel, which results in a video in which the sound is very distorted.
This bug has been detected after the HTC One received a second update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat corresponding to version 4.19.401.11. This update was aimed at solving certain problems with WiFi connectivity that arose after the first update, and in this case the error was completely solved. What nobody expected is that a new problem would appear after this second update. The confirmation that this error corresponds to the second update resides in the fact that some users have reinstalled the Android 4.3 operating system on their terminals and have appreciated that the sound error disappears completely.
Users who have suffered this failure have also reported that, after updating the HTC One to the second update of Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the mobile records a first video without any sound problem. The error comes when trying to record more videos because from that moment the videos are accompanied by only monaural sound (ie, sound recorded on a single channel).
At the moment there has been no official pronunciation from HTC. Presumably, in the coming days there will be an official statement in which the company will inform users of the time they will have to wait to receive a third update on their mobiles. These types of small updates are usually directly via mobile, that is, users who want to solve this problem should follow these steps:
- We enter the application of " Settings ".
- We move to the option " Telephone information ".
- And finally, click on the option "System update ".
Even so, despite the fact that there is no official solution to this problem, the HTC community has been in charge of finding a little trick that allows you to record videos with one hundred percent functional sound. For the sound to be recorded in two channels, the only thing we have to do before recording a video from the mobile is navigate to the Google Now applicationand press the microphone button. After doing this, we only have to go directly to the camera application and we can now record videos with the peace of mind that the sound will be perfectly recorded. The explanation of this trick is that when pressing the microphone button we are automatically activating the sound recording in two channels, and that allows us to record the videos without suffering the sound failure.
