- My Xiaomi mobile is not in the list, can I install the application?
The Google Camera application, better known as GCam or Google Camera, is one of the camera applications with the highest quality in the Android world. The reason for this is due to the algorithm that Google projects on the images taken through this application, which is much higher than those that manufacturers like Xiaomi offer with their native application. To this is added the integration of modes such as Portrait Mode or Night Mode or Night Shift. The bad news is that the application is only compatible with Google Pixels. Fortunately, the XDA Developers community has developed a series of solutions in APK format of the Google Camera to install on any Xiaomi mobile with MIUI 9, MIUI 10 or MIUI 11.
Before proceeding, it is necessary to clarify that Tuexpertomovil.com is not responsible for the damage that may be caused to any mobile phone with the installation of the application. Some terminals require root and installation through Magisk modules to work. We recommend paying attention to the linked thread in any case to avoid future problems.

GCam for Xiaomi Mi 9
The Xiaomi Mi 9 has multiple versions of the Google camera. Installing it is as simple as resorting to the application's APK and activating the installation permissions from unknown sources. No root or extra modules.
GCam for the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Redmi K20 Pro
If we want to install Google Camera on our Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro or Redmi K20 Pro, the process to follow is the same as that we have just described with the Mi 9.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Lite
Same process as in the previous terminals. In the case of Mi 8 it is very important that we have a stable MIUI 10.2.2 or higher.
If we have a Mi 8 Lite, we can resort to any of the versions designed under the Parrot program.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi 6
Celso Azevedo is the programmer in charge of porting the Google Camera to the Mi 6. We can use a traditional installation through an APK file or a Magisk module if we have superuser permissions on our mobile phone.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5S
The Google Camera application developed by Arnova is downloadable through a simple APK file.
In the case of the Mi 5S we can also opt for a Magisk module.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi A2
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is the Xiaomi mobile with the largest number of Google Cam versions available: APK, ARCore, AR Stickers, Magisk module…
If we have a Mi A2 we will have to resort, unfortunately, to a Magisk module, so we will have to have root.
GCam for the Xiaomi Mi MIX, Mi MIX 2, Mi MIX 2S and Mi MIX 3
Xiaomi's MIX series has a lot of support from developers. While the MIX 1, 2, and 2S are supported by Arnova, the MIX 3 is supported by developer Xterminarter07.
Unfortunately in the latter we find some bugs related to video recording and photography in certain situations.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi Note 3
Again we are faced with a development led by Arnova. The installation follows the traditional process using an APK file that can be downloaded from the original thread on XDA Developers.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi 3S
Although Xiaomi's Redmi 3S has been on the market for a few years now, the truth is that the Arnova version developed for this phone is one of the most stable.
The APK available to install is only compatible with Android Oreo 8.1. If we have a previous or higher version, the developer does not ensure complete compatibility.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi 4X and Redmi 4 Prime
We jump generation with the Redmi 4X and Redmi 4 Prime. While the former has a somewhat outdated version of the Google Cam developed by Arnova (version 5.1), the 4 Prime has the latest version (7.2) developed under Parrot.
In both cases the installation method is based on resorting to an APK.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi 5A
A version developed by Arnova that includes most of the features of the original version and does not have any relevant bugs. The latest version is far from June 2018, so we will not have the latest features of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL and Pixel 4 and 4 XL.
The installation method is the same as that of most Xiaomi phones: through a simple APK file.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
We move on to the Xiaomi Note series with the Redmi Note 3. Despite having been on the market for several years, the terminal has a quite worthy version of Google's camera.
To install it, however, we will have to resort to a custom Recovery because the installation is done through a ZIP file.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
To install Google Camera on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 we can choose two ways: that of resorting to an APK file or that of making use of a Magisk module. Both solutions are developed by Celso Acevedo.
GCam for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Plus (international versions)
Two of the few telephones of the Chinese firm that have not reached Spain. We refer to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Plus in their international version.
Both have official support for the Google Camera through the same APK, since they both have the same processor model.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (Redmi Note 5 in Spain)
The Redmi Note 5 Pro arrived almost two years ago in Spain under the name Redmi Note 5. Again we find direct support from Celso Azevedo through the Parrot program.
The latest version available is 7.2, although the ideal is to try between the different versions.
GCam for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro
We reached the best sellers of Xiaomi. How could it be otherwise, both the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro have official support from the Parrot program by Celso Azevedo.
We can install the application in question through a simple APK without resorting to root.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi MAX 3
Xiaomi's phone half tablet half smartphone has, how could it be otherwise, a Google application for the camera. Although the phone has relatively modern hardware, the only version available for the Mi MAX 3 is based on version 5.1 of the eponymous app.
For this reason, some of the latest Google Camera features will not be available on the phone.
GCam for Pocophone F1
Of the mobiles with the best support from the community, the Pocophone F1 has a fully functional application with all the functionalities of the original application. Night Shift, Portrait Mode, AR Stickers, Slow Motion, Super Res Zoom, HDR, RAW…
To install the APK of the application, yes, we will have to delete any other version of Google Camera that is installed on our phone.
My Xiaomi mobile is not in the list, can I install the application?
If we have a Xiaomi phone that is not on the official list, it is likely that the device does not have direct support from the community.
To download the Google Camera application we can turn to the different development sub-forums of the phone in question. We can also open a thread to comment with the rest of users about the compatibility of the phone with the Google camera.
In no case will the device be compatible if it has a Mediatek processor. This is the reason why the Redmi Note 8 Pro is not supported.
