"I can't see who's calling me" "I can't see the phone numbers of who's calling", these are some of the complaints from users in the forums looking for a solution to problems with calls from a Samsung mobile.
This is an old bug that was fixed with a software update. However, for some reason some users still have this same problem. It may be a change made in the configuration of the contacts, conflict with the dual SIM, changes made by the operator, etc.
But there is a solution that seems to work in most cases, and we will tell you about it below.
Adjust call settings
There are a couple of adjustments you can make if the caller does not appear on your Samsung mobile. However, there is bad news: it is a temporary solution and you will have to do without a function that may be important to you.
Do you want to try? All you have to do is disable Caller ID and Antispam. Yes, that feature that protects users from unknown calls. So if a person who is not among your contacts calls your mobile, you can have a minimum information before responding.
For some reason, this setting causes conflicts on some mobiles which prevents it from displaying contact information. If you want to try disabling it, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings in the Phone app
- Find "Call settings" and scroll down to "Caller ID and anti-spam" (or "Caller ID and spam protection) and turn it off.
This should fix the names not showing up on incoming calls. On the other hand, another option that you can check is the one found in Other call settings >> Show info. of the caller, as you see in the second image.
This is an option that some users have used to troubleshoot contact information. So if you have this feature enabled, disable it and see if you notice a change in calls, as it may be causing conflicts.
This also seems to work if you get numbers instead of the contact's name, or if the contact's name is slow to appear. And finally, take a look at your contact settings and see if you have all of them in one location. If the contacts are spread over different locations such as your Google account and SIM, some of them may be causing a conflict, so try to unify them.
