When we are already talking about Android 11, there are several manufacturers that have not yet updated their phones to Android 10. Among them is LG, which is one of the ones that usually takes the longest to push updates. However, that they have taken a little longer than the others does not mean that they will not update their phones to the latest version of Google's operating system. Thus, LG has announced that it will update nine of its smartphones to Android 10.
Among the selected models we have, of course, high-end mobiles such as the LG V50 ThinQ or the LG G8 ThinQ. But not only they will receive the update, since the K range and even some models of the Q range will also have Android 10 throughout the year. Do you want to know when it's your LG mobile's turn? Let's take a look at the dates that the company has provided for each of its smartphones.
When will my LG mobile be updated to Android 10?
As we said, LG has announced that 9 of its smartphones will be those that receive Android 10. Right now only two LG models have Android 10 as standard, and not in our country. They are the LG G8 ThinQ and the LG V50 ThinQ 5G that are sold in Korea.
During 2020 these will be the LG terminals that will receive Android 10: V40 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ in its international version, G8X ThinQ, G8S ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, K50S, K40S, K50 and Q60. They will all receive it before the end of the year, but when exactly? Let's see it.
According to the roadmap published by LG, the LG V50 ThinQ will be the first to receive the update to Android 10. I will do it next February.
The other flagship of the manufacturer, the LG G8X, will receive Android 10 in the second quarter of 2020. As for the rest of the high-end models included in the "upgradeable" list, both the LG G7 and the LG G8S and the LG V40 ThinQ will receive the update to Android 10 in the third quarter of 2020.
The last to receive the update will be, as usual, the mid-range models. Thus, owners of an LG K50S, a K40S, a K50 or a Q60 will have to wait for the fourth quarter of 2020. That is, until the end of the year the update to Android 10 of last year's mid-range mobiles will not arrive.
As for the rest of the manufacturer's models, they are not included in the update roadmap, so we imagine that they will not receive the latest version of the Google operating system. And with regard to the models that come out during this year, the logical thing is to think that all will arrive with Android 10 already installed. But we will have to wait for the next releases to confirm it.
