For some time now, many users have reported problems on their Samsung phones in relation to a notification that appears and disappears constantly. This notification reads the following message: 'USB connector connected' and its main function is to notify when a USB cable is connected to the mobile. The problem, according to most of the testimonials we have been able to find on the Internet, is that there is no USB connected to the phone. To this must be added that the appearance of this notification triggers the energy consumption of the system. For this reason we have compiled some solutions to remove the USB notification that keeps connecting and disconnecting continuously.
The methods that we will describe below are compatible with all Samsung mobiles on the market. Samsung Galaxy A10, A20, A30, A40, A50, A51, A70, A71, A80, A90, Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, S9, S9 Plus, S10, S10e, S10 Plus, S20, S20 Ultra, S20 Plus, Galaxy Note 9, Note 10, Note 10 Lite, Galaxy M20, M30…
Solution 1: stop the Facebook Services process in the background
Sometimes the appearance of this notification may be due to a conflict with third-party applications. Some users have claimed to have solved the problem after disabling the Facebook process in the background.
We can do this by referring to the Applications section within Settings. Then we will go to the Facebook Services application and finally click on Force stop. It is also recommended to disable the process in question to prevent the message 'USB connector connected' from appearing again, although on the contrary, we will stop receiving notifications from the Facebook application.
Solution 2: get rid of any cleaning tools or battery check
Some users have claimed that the problem has disappeared after uninstalling some cleaning or battery management application. CCleaner, AccuBattery, Nox Cleaner…
Because these types of tools require access to system information, they can generate a conflict with the Android and Samsung push services.
Solution 3: uninstall the latest apps installed on Android
Facebook, Houseparty, Zoom, AliExpress… Any application may be generating a conflict with the services of Android and Samsung. To verify that the problem comes from a third-party application we will have to start the mobile in Safe Mode. This mode is accessed by pressing for several seconds on the Power off option in the menu that appears when we want to turn off the device.
The phone will automatically reboot only with system applications. If the notification disappears, the problem is most likely from some of the apps we have recently installed. Ideally, uninstall the applications one by one.
Solution 4: clean the USB connector and try inserting a different cable
After ruling out any software problem, check the USB connector. Sometimes the entrance may contain some traces of dust, dirt or moisture.
With the mobile off, we will blow air over the port with a compressed air spray and clean the surface with a toothbrush moistened in isopropyl alcohol. Be careful, it is not the same 97º alcohol that is commonly sold in pharmacies, but a special one for cleaning electronic components.
We can also try connecting and disconnecting a different USB cable than the original phone cable. It may be the case that the plug is stuck in some of the connection pins of the port. The same happens with the original charger. We can try to connect it to another charger to rule out possible hardware problems.
Solution 5: calibrate the battery of your Samsung mobile
The solution proposed by the official Samsung service is to calibrate the battery through a simple alphanumeric command that we will have to enter in the Phone application. The command in question is the following:
- * # 0228 #
An application called Battery Status will automatically appear that will reveal certain information about the status of the battery. Then we will click on the Quick Start button and finally OK.
To finish with the battery calibration, Samsung recommends discharging the phone to 0% and charging it to 100% with the phone turned off.
Solution 6: update your Samsung mobile to the latest version
Another solution that they recommend from the Samsung Members forums is to update the phone software to the latest version available. Because it is a generalized failure, administrators do not rule out that the conflict has to do with a failed update for different company mobiles. Just go to the Settings application and then to the Software Update option. Finally we will click on Download and install to search for new installation packages.
Solution 7: restore default mobile settings
The last solution we can turn to if none of the above has worked correctly is to reset the phone's settings completely. Because the data will be deleted from the terminal, it is recommended to make a backup beforehand through the One UI options.
Once we have stored the phone data, the restoration process is as simple as going to the General Administration section in Settings. Then we will go to the Reset option and finally to Reset default values. The normal thing is that the phone reboots several times.
