Now that the Government has asked Congress to extend the quarantine for another 15 days, it is essential to keep a busy head to avoid falling into the despair of being confined at home. Watching series and movies via streaming is one of the best ways to spend the three weeks ahead. To connect our mobile phone to the TV, however we can use different ways, either by cable or through the WiFi network. On Honor and Huawei mobiles this is even easier due to the options that EMUI, the customization layer of the two Chinese firms, integrates. This time we have made a compilation of all the possible ways to connect the company's phones to a television.
Wireless projection, the easiest and fastest way
Thanks to the Wireless Projection function we can duplicate the image of our Huawei device on any Smart TV compatible with Screen Mirroring. We can check it in the TV information through the manufacturer's website.
After having made sure that our television has the aforementioned standard feature we will go to the Device Connection section in Settings on our phone. Then we will go to the Wireless Projection option.
With the phone and TV connected to the same WiFi network, the system will start searching for compatible compatible equipment. Finally, the phone will connect to the TV and will show the content of the screen on the latter, from applications and videos to games. The latency will depend entirely on the strength and quality of the WiFi signal.
Desktop mode if our mobile has USB type C 3.1
If we have a high-end Honor or Huawei mobile, we can make use of the famous Desktop Mode to connect the phone to the TV through a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. Some phones compatible with this function are the Huawei P30, the Huawei P2o Pro, the Huawei Mate 20 or the Honor 20. In general, any mobile that has the USB 3.1 standard. We can review this information on the Huawei website or on the Honor page.
The difference between this mode and the Projection function is that it converts the interface to that of a computer, rather than duplicating the image on the phone. Floating windows, split screen applications, file manager … In short, a traditional computer to use with the possibility of installing keyboards, mice and external devices in general through a USB hub or through the Bluetooth connection.
Chromecast or Fire TV, the most comfortable option
The last option we can use to connect the phone to a TV is to take advantage of a third-party device, such as the Google Chromecast or the Amazon Fire TV.
The way to connect to both will vary depending on the device, although generally we will have to click on the Cast icon in each of the applications whose content we want to replicate. It should be noted that not all applications support this feature.
