OnePlus 7 Pro or Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro? If you are thinking of purchasing one of the two models, you have come to the right place. We compare the most interesting flagships on the market. On the one hand, the recently presented Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro, the high-end of the Redmi brand that comes with a full screen and one of the most powerful processors on the market. On the other, the OnePlus 7 Pro, with triple camera, 90 hz screen and Oxygen OS. Here the comparison.
Design: very similar on the front and totally different on the back
We begin by talking about the physical aspect of the two terminals. On the front there are hardly any differences, both the OnePlus 7 pro and the Redmi K20 Pro have a full screen, without frames and without a notch in the upper area. The two companies have opted for a retractable system and a sliding selfie camera from the upper area. In the case of the OnePlus mobile, it has a double curvature on the panel, while the Redmi terminal opts for a flat screen and a slightly thicker frame in the lower area. In addition, both devices have an on-screen fingerprint reader.

The rear has a similar configuration, with a fairly pronounced curvature and a triple camera in the center. The Redmi K20 Pro stands out for its glossy finish with that striped effect, while the OnePlus 7 Pro opts for more elegant finishes, although also very striking. The two models have aluminum frames, with USB C and a speaker in the lower area.
If we go to dimensions, we see that the OnePlus 7 pro has 162.6 x 75.9 x 8.8 millimeters. The Redmi K20 does 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8mm. Same thickness, but a more compact size for the Xiaomi device, since it has a somewhat smaller screen. It's lighter too: 191 grams on the Redmi and a heavy 206 grams on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

screen
Design and screen of the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro.
As we can see in the technical sheet, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, with QHD + resolution and 90 hz. On the other side of the ring we have the Redmi K20 Pro with a 6.39-inch screen (also AMOLED) and a Full HD + resolution.
In terms of screen size and resolution, the clear winner is the OnePlus 7 Pro. In addition, the OnePlus flagship has a 90 hz panel, which allows us to have more fluid movements, which is noticeable especially in games and at the time to consume multimedia content. It is true that the Redmi panel is more compact, a Full HD + resolution is more than enough for that size. It also includes DC Dimming technology, this optimizes the brightness of the screen automatically.
Processor, memory and autonomy
Which mobile is faster? We cannot bring you any conclusions about which one is the fastest, since we have not yet tested the Redmi K20 Pro. However, we can compare the characteristics and see which one offers better performance.
The two terminals have the Snapdragon 855 processor, the latest from Qualcomm for the high-end. Here the RAM memory comes into play, but it seems that they are also similar: 6 and 8 GB in both models. Of course, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a more vitamin version, with nothing more and nothing less than 12 GB of RAM. In storage, we find more options in the K20 Pro: 64, 128 and 256 GB. In the OnePlus there is a 128 GB version and a 256 GB version. Of course, with UFS 3.0 memory, which is faster than conventional. Therefore, we cannot be sure which mobile is going to go faster, but we can say that the OnePlus 7 has a more powerful version, with 12 GB of RAM.
Regarding autonomy, both terminals have 4,000 mAh and fast charging. Here the Redmi K20 Pro may win, as it has a more compact panel and with a lower resolution.
Cameras: triple main and retractable system in both models
Few differences in the photographic section. The two devices have a triple sensor, with a 4.8 megapixel and f / 1.7 main lens. We do not know the sensor model in the Redmi K20 Pro, but it seems that it is exactly the same as the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Where there are differences is in the other two cameras. The OnePlus 7 Pro has a 16 megapixel wide-angle sensor, while the Redmi K20 goes down to 13 megapixels, but also with a wide angle. Here not only depends on the resolution of the lens, but on the final processing and more aspects. The telephoto camera also seems to be the same: 8 megapixels. In the case of the OnePlus 7 pro, with a 3x optical, while in the Redmi K20 we do not know if it reaches this increase.
Triple main camera with 48 megapixel sensor.
Of course, the two terminals allow you to take photos with a blur effect, beauty mode, etc.
The front camera is retractable on both phones. While the OnePus 7 Pro has a 16-megapixel sensor, the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro goes up to spend 20 mega-pixels.
Price and conclusions
We come to the end of the comparison, to the prices and the conclusions of the two terminals.
The Oneplus 7 Pro is in the vein at a minimum price of 710 euros (6 Gb + 128 GB storage version). There is another version for 760 euros, the one with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The most powerful, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, costs 830 euros.
In the case of the Redmi K20 Pro we do not know its price in Spain, but the change starts from 320 euros for the 6 GB + 64 GB version, 340 euros for a variant with the same RAM and 128 GB of storage, 360 euros per change for 8 GB + 128 GB and about 400 euros for the most powerful variant, with 8 GB and 256 GB of storage. Its price may increase at its launch in Spain.
The two terminals share technical specifications. The photographic section to be the same, the same lenses and a result that should hardly vary. In the case of autonomy we see something similar, although we can expect a little more duration in the Xiaomi terminal.
Where we do see differences is on the screen. The OnePlus 7 Pro is larger and with QHD + resolution, while the Redmi stays in Full HD +. In performance, the OnePlus 7 Pro wins with about 12 GB of RAM in its maximum version vs the 8 GB of the Redmi. Also, the OnePlus terminal has UFS 3.0 memory, which is faster.
In this case, the important thing is to look beyond the technical specifications. For example, the customization layer, the camera options or if you are looking for a good screen to consume multimedia content and games. Even so, there is no doubt that both options are very interesting.
