A year after surprising with the ninth generation of the Note family, Samsung returns to the fray with a new, more current and renewed member. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is crowned as one of the most advanced mobile phones of the company today, inheriting character and brand from its predecessors, without forgetting the new members of the Galaxy S10 range this year. The device has a main panel with perforation, this time in the upper central part so that it does not disturb too much, as well as an improved S Pen, with which we can control the mobile without touching it.
Although its appearance has evolved with respect to that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, like the processor or photographic section, there are some details that have fallen by the wayside. For example, the screen size and resolution has decreased slightly. However, it features support for HDR10 + images and better technology. The RAM memory has not exceeded 8 GB in its standard version (The Note 10+ if it arrives with 12 GB). Also, the battery this year is of lower capacity. From the 4,000 mAh of the Note 9 it has dropped to 3,500 mAh.
This regression in some of its components is supplied by specifications that make the Note 10 one of the most striking phones of the moment, even for the most gamers. We can mention a steam cooling chamber, which is located inside the equipment. It is the thinnest of the moment, and it is prepared to maintain constant temperatures despite performing very heavy tasks. If you want to know all the details and really see what are the real improvements and changes between the Galaxy Note 9 and Note 10, do not miss our next comparison.

Design and display
Samsung has made great progress in the design of the Galaxy Note 10, changes that already began to be noticeable in the Galaxy S10 that we met in February, but with respect to the Note 9 are very notable. It is true that the aesthetic reminiscences of the Note 9 are palpable in this new model, but it is more inspired by this year's Galaxy family. This is something that we appreciate as soon as we see it head-on. The Note 10 arrives with a main panel, without notch or notch, hardly any frames, but with a hole to house the front camera, which in its case is placed in the upper central part.
Samsung has not forgotten about the curves to maintain ergonomics and offer a more immersive experience. To all this we must add a robust chassis, built in glass on the front and back, and metal around it. The feeling in the hand is of a high-end phone, well built and very elegant, that does not loose or break when touched in any of its parts.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Compared to the Note 9 it is also thinner and lighter. Its exact measurements are 151 x 71.8 x 7.9 mm and 168 grams of weight compared to 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 millimeters and 201 grams of weight of the Note 9. It must be remembered that although the Note 9 is also built In glass and metal, it is quite resistant and is still a high-end mobile, its frames are more noticeable on both sides of the screen, something that does not allow you to enjoy so much when watching multimedia content or browsing. Its rear is also completely different. It arrived with a double camera arranged horizontally, located in the center, with a fingerprint reader just below. This bothered some users, who complained that when putting the finger to unlock the fingerprint, it went to the lens with what that entails.
To alleviate this, the South Korean has renewed the back in her new Note. The Note 10 lands this year with the camera (this time triple) placed in a vertical position in one of its corners, with the fingerprint reader under the screen, thus cleaning its back of elements. We can say that now everything is more orderly, without the company logo still missing presiding over the central part. As a final culmination, the oleophobic coating must be mentioned to leave it free of fingerprintswhen holding it with your hands. The Galaxy Note 10 will be available in four different colors: Aura Black, Aura White, Aura Glow, and Aura Pink. The third is the one with a more fantasy finish. And it is that depending on the light we have a wide range of colors in the purest rainbow style, as you can see in the following image.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10
With regards to the screen. The Galaxy Note 10 includes a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with Full HD + resolution (2,280 x 1080 pixels), which leaves us with a density of 401 pixels per inch. In this sense, the newest thing this year is the HDR10 + certification to improve the viewing experience. We can say that despite having lost some size and resolution with respect to the Note 9, the technology and quality have been improved. The Note 9's panel is 6.4-inch Super AMOLED and has a maximum resolution of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels. However, something you have to keep in mind about this mobile is that the resolution shown by default is Full HD +. If you want to take advantage of its full potential, you will have to modify the value within the Note settings. We tested for a few days in Full HD + and others in Quad HD + and the truth is that there are not very drastic changes, they are barely perceptible.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Processor and memory
Many consider the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 a perfect phone for gamers for a number of reasons. The first is that it is powered by an Exynos 9825 processor accompanied by 8 GB of RAM, plenty of material to move any heavy game. The second is that inside the terminal there is space for a steam cooling chamber. It is the thinnest of the moment, and is capable of maintaining constant temperatures, even if we squeeze it to the maximum. The third is that specific software has been included that improves the gaming experience. It is AI Game Booster, based on artificial intelligence, which is joined by PlayGalaxy Link, a streaming service for PC games, which uses Steam Link as its base.
Eos yes, unfortunately Samsung has this year dispensed with the expansion for storage via microSD cards. For this, it has endowed the Note 10 with a space of 256 GB. However, we will always have the possibility of using cloud services, something to which we already have to be more than accustomed. Although the new member of the family is more powerful and performs very well, we cannot destroy the capabilities of its predecessor. Its technical set remains top-notch, with an Exynos 9810 processor and a 6 or 8 GB RAM memory to be chosen by the user. This terminal does have expansion with microSD and a space of 128 or 512 GB.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10
Photographic section
The dual 12 +12 megapixel sensor of the Note 9 has gone down in history with the arrival of the Note 10. As expected, the company has given a twist, giving its new model more capabilities when it comes to capturing images. The terminal has three cameras composed of a first 12-megapixel sensor with Dual Pixel technology, optical image stabilizer (OIS), phase detection autofocus, 77-degree wide angle and dual aperture of f / 1.5-2.4. This is accompanied by a second 12-megapixel telephoto sensor and focal aperture f / 2.4, which will allow us to do two-fold optical zoom without losing quality. The third and last sensor is an ultra wide angle lens with 123 degrees of width of 16 megapixels and with a focal aperture f / 2.2.
It is not a new combination, since it is the same that includes the Galaxy S10 +, so if you have already tried how this model captures images you will get an idea of what awaits you with the Note 10. We were quite happy during the presentation of the new Note. After testing the camera for a few minutes, the feelings were quite positive. For selfies, Samsung has chosen this year to expand resolution. From the 8 megapixels of the Note 9 it has been raised to 10 megapixels with f / 2.2 aperture and autofocus. We therefore expect better quality selfies.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
An improved S Pen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 stylus deserves a special section. The company has provided better features to an S Pen that already underwent renovations last year, but this year it improves them even more. Now it has a renewed Lithium-Titanium battery capable of offering up to 10 hours of autonomy, or the possibility of automatically converting a handwritten note into different files: PDF, images, Word or text.
Also, now we can use the S Pen to control some applications without having to touch the device at any time. For example, the camera. If before we could use it as a trigger, now we can move around the app with ease, taking photos, changing modes or using specific functions such as AR Doodle. Based on virtual reality, this function gives us the possibility to draw on the video we want, leaving the user free to exploit their creativity.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10
Battery and connections
Not everything is improvements, and we have bad news for those who pay too much attention to the battery section. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 equips a 3,500 mAh, lower than the 4,000 mAh of last year. However, 25W fast charging and shared wireless charging are not lacking. Regarding the connections, note that Samsung has eliminated the 3.5 mm headphone jack in this model, a decision that may not be liked by all users. For the rest, it still has 4G LTE Cat.20, WiFi 802.11ax, Bluetooth version 5.0, USB Type C, NFC or GPS. Add to that AKG-signed sound to complete the multimedia experience.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10
Pricing and availability
As always happens when a new model is launched, we see its successor going down more and more in price. Throughout 2019 we have been witnessing how the Note 9 was deflating its value, until we could acquire it at quite interesting prices. On the company's website it is available from 800 euros for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, or 1,000 euros with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal space. In any case, it is possible to find it even cheaper in stores like CostMóvil, where it costs 590 euros with 6 GB of RAM.
For its part, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 was put on pre-sale yesterday, August 7, to go on the market on August 23. Its price is 960 euros for the only version of 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
