The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has already been officially presented along with the Galaxy Note 10+. Unlike previous years, the company has decided to present two models whose main difference, beyond the technical characteristics, is part of the price. A price that if we compare it with those of the rest of the competition comes to beat with models like the Huawei P30 Pro. Are you thinking of buying one of the two proposals from Samsung and Huawei? Discover all the differences between the two in our comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 vs Huawei P30 Pro, two of the best representatives of the current high-end range.

Design
With the launch of the Galaxy Note 10, Samsung has decided to differentiate itself from the competition by integrating an island-shaped notch in the mediatrix of the terminal, which helps it obtain a percentage of use of the surface greater than the P30 Pro with its notch in water drop shape.
Beyond this particularity, there are few differences in design that we find with the Huawei P30 Pro. Both have a design made of metal and glass, and both have a similar appearance on the back, with a distribution of cameras vertically.
Where we do find substantial differences is in dimensions, partly due to the P30 Pro's larger screen size and battery. Specifically, the latter is 0.7 centimeters taller, 0.2 centimeters wider and 0.5 centimeters taller. thick. Finally, its weight exceeds the weight of the Galaxy Note 10 by 24 grams.
screen
We are possibly before two of the best exponents on screens. The differences between one and the other are, in fact, minimal.
With a 6.3-inch screen, the Galaxy Note 10 has a Dynamic AMOLED panel and a Full HD + resolution that gives us 401 pixels per inch. In addition to being compatible with the S-Pen, it has an integrated fingerprint sensor that bases its technology on ultrasound.
As for the Huawei P30 Pro, it uses a 6.47-inch OLED panel with Full HD + resolution and 398 dots per inch. Like the Galaxy Note 10, the P30 Pro has a fingerprint sensor integrated in the screen, although its technology this time is based on an optical sensor per image, which should provide us with a faster, and insecure, unlocking experience to the time.
Another difference that should be noted has to do with the level of brightness. At up to 1,200 nits, the Galaxy Note 10's screen is significantly brighter than the P30 Pro's, at just 740 nits. Since Samsung tends to integrate the best panels on the market, you might expect things like color reproduction or angles vision are better than the Huawei phone.
Processor and memory
As two of the best representatives of the current high-end, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Huawei P30 integrate the latest of the latest in processing technology.
If we start with their similarities, both Samsung's and Huawei's phones have a Mali G76 MP12 GPU, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The P30 Pro also adds two storage options of 128 and 512 GB, although the technology used is lower than that of the Note 10 (UFS 3.0 vs UFS 2.1). It is also compatible with Huawei proprietary NM cards, while the Galaxy Note 10 does not support any kind of expansion.
Continuing with the rest of the technical characteristics, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 uses an Exynos 9825 processor from its own house manufactured in 7 nanometers. The Huawei P30 Pro, for its part, is married to a Kirin 980 processor manufactured again in 7 nanometers. The differences in performance, therefore, should be minimal, by integrating a similar processor and an identical RAM memory capacity.
Where the differences are somewhat more palpable is in storage. By integrating a UFS 3.0 type technology, the Galaxy Note should give us a better experience when moving files and dealing with applications that make use of internal memory.
Photographic set
We come to what is possibly the most interesting section: that of the cameras.
This year Samsung has decided to integrate a configuration similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. With three sensors of 12, 16 and 12 megapixels and two ultra-wide angle lenses of 123º and telephoto lens of two increases, the only difference that we find with the aforementioned model presented at the beginning of the year is based on the aperture.
We continue to have a variable aperture f / 1.5 and f / 1.4 in the main sensor, although this time the sensors with wide-angle and telephoto lenses now have an aperture f / 2.2 and f / 2.1.
As for the Huawei P30 Pro, it has no less than four sensors of 40, 20 and 8 megapixels (the fourth sensor is a TOF sensor) with wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and periscope lenses of five times and focal aperture f / 1.6, f / 2.2 and f / 3.4.
Referring to the technical data, and in the absence of testing the Galaxy Note 10 in depth, the camera of the Huawei P30 Pro shows a clear superiority in terms of photographic versatility. In addition to having a higher optical zoom level (five times compared to the two of the Note 10), the P30 Pro has a TOF sensor, which should result in a more successful portrait mode.
In photographs that require the use of the sensor with a wide-angle lens, the results should be similar, but not with the main sensor, which in the case of the Note 10, the variable aperture gives us extra brightness in low-light conditions. Luckily, the P30 Pro has a night mode whose results are far superior to the competition.
And what about the front cameras? While the Huawei P30 Pro should provide better photographic quality thanks to its 32 megapixels, the Note 10 should produce images with greater luminosity thanks to the f / 2.0 aperture.
Connections and autonomy
Having the latest in processing technology implies having the latest in sections such as connectivity.
Both the Huawei P30 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 have dual-band WiFi a / b / g / n / c, GPS compatible with all satellites, NFC technology for mobile payments, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB type C 3.1. The only difference comes from the incorporation of an infrared sensor in the case of the P30 Pro.
Otherwise, both terminals are identical, since they even support connection to external monitors through the Samsung DeX system and EMUI Desktop. Where the differences are accentuated is in the autonomy section, an autonomy whose difference if we refer to the technical data is 700 mAh (4,200 mAh of the P30 Pro compared to the 3,500 of the Galaxy Note 10).
Another differential aspect of the Huawei model is its fast charge, no less than 40 W compared to 25 of the Samsung phone. Of course, both have wireless charging reverse wireless charging to transfer charge to other devices without the need for that cables, although the Huawei model is somewhat faster.
Conclusions
After seeing the main differences between the Huawei P30 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10, it is time to draw conclusions, conclusions that largely depend on the price.
The Samsung model can be found today for a single price of 959 euros, both in the official store and in Amazon and other authorized distributors. The P30 Pro, on the other hand, is in the average of 750 euros in most authorized stores, although its official price is 950 euros. Is it worth shelling out 200 euros of difference for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10? From our point of view, no.
Unless the use of the S-Pen is essential to us, the Huawei P30 Pro is proclaimed as a much more complete alternative. Complete at the camera, battery and even connectivity level. In case of opting for the Samsung model, the best way to get hold of the latter is to wait for a period of two or three months, since the price of most of the brand's phones tend to depreciate over time.
