Although the Samsung Galaxy A70 and the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE have been on the market for some time, the truth is that today they are still the best sellers of the two Asian brands. The reason for this is due to the price reduction that both terminals have suffered since their launch in the middle of the year. To this day, in fact, the two phones can be found for a similar price, which makes them ideal to compare them with each other. But, what differences are there between the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE vs Samsung Galaxy A70? We see it below.

Design
The differences in design between the Galaxy A70 vs Mi 9 SE are practically negligible, at least when it comes to the appearance of both teams.

Both have a notch in the shape of a drop of water, and the rear of both is distributed in a similar way, with the triple camera as a main feature. Perhaps the biggest difference between one and the other has to do with construction materials and size. And is that while the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is made of aluminum and glass, the Galaxy A70 is built entirely in polycarbonate with a glass look.
If we talk about dimensions, here the palm is taken by the Galaxy A70, with a 6.7-inch screen that exceeds 16 centimeters in height and 7.6 in width. The Mi 9 SE, for its part, has a 5.97-inch screen, which gives it a height of 14.7 centimeters and a width of only 7. Weight is another aspect that varies the most from a model compared to the other: 180 grams of the Galaxy A70 compared to the 155 of the Mi 9 SE.

Finally, it should be noted that while the Samsung terminal has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, the Xiaomi phone has the fifth version of the same standard, something that should directly affect the resistance to falls and scratches of both terminals.
screen
The screen section can be summarized in two words: AMOLED panel. Both have the same technology, the same Full HD + resolution and the same amount of brightness: 600 nits. The main difference is found in size and color calibration.
In short, the Galaxy A70 has a 6.7-inch panel, almost an inch more than the 5.97-inch panel of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE. This directly affects the number of pixels per inch, somewhat lower in the A70 due to the larger size of its screen (393 dpi compared to 432 in the Mi 9 SE).
When it comes to color calibration, the A70's panel shows slightly more saturated tones. In contrast, the calibration of the Xiaomi mid-range mobile opts for colder colors. Both are adjustable from the system's own options.
Another of the differences that we find between the two terminals is in the fingerprint sensor, which happens to be located under the screen in both one model and another. Although both are lacking in the same way, the speed of the Galaxy A70 is significantly lower, as well as its reliability when placing the finger on the sensor.
Processor and memory
The Samsung Galaxy A70 stands out for being one of the first Samsung mid-range phones with a Qualcomm processor behind it. Specifically, the terminal uses a Snapdragon 675 processor along with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage of type UFS 2.1. The good news is that it is compatible with micro SD cards up to 512 GB.
Moving on to the Xiaomi model, the company opts for a slightly more powerful processor, the Snapdragon 712 along with 6 GB of RAM and two storage options of 64 and 128 GB without the possibility of expansion through cards. Both in UFS 2.1 format.
Beyond the technical data, the differences between one and the other are practically non-existent. The theory tells us that the Mi 9 SE achieves better results when it comes to requiring processes that demand processor power. In games, the graphic improvement is invaluable, since the Adreno 616 graphics that it integrates is slightly higher than the Adreno 615 of the A70.
Where we do find differences is in the customization layer: Samsung One UI versus MIUI. At this point, the preferences of each user prevail over objective opinions, although the truth is that the Xiaomi layer is somewhat more polished.
Photographic section
We come to what is possibly the most interesting section of the comparison between the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE vs Galaxy A70, the photographic one. The two terminals have three cameras and three lenses that are replicated in both cases: main sensor, wide-angle lens and telephoto lens in the case of the Mi 9 SE.
On the part of the A70 we find three cameras of 32, 8 and 5 megapixels and focal aperture f / 1.7, f / 2.2 and f / 2.2. The wide-angle sensor has no less than 123º field aperture, far from the aperture offered by Xiaomi (the opening data has not yet been provided by the brand) and with a somewhat higher quality than that of the aforementioned terminal. As for the 5 megapixel sensor, it uses its functions to improve the blurring of photographs in portrait mode, something it achieves and even reaches the level of the Chinese proposal.
If we move to the cameras of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, it has three cameras of 48, 13 and 8 megapixels of resolution and aperture f / 1.8, f / 2.4 and f / 2.2. The main sensor, by the way, is Sony's IMX586, a sensor with better results in general than the A70 except when it comes to night photography. The third and last sensor uses its functions for enlarged photography using a two-fold optical zoom, a sensor that the Galaxy A70 does without.
We can therefore deduce, the general quality of photography is better on the Xiaomi mobile, except for the photos taken with the wide-angle sensor. We do not forget the front cameras, composed of a 32 and 20 megapixel module in the Samsung and Xiaomi mobile. The quality of the latter, on the other hand, is higher in the Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Mi 9 SE, having a better angle and greater definition in the photographs.
Autonomy and connectivity
The integration of two processors of similar ranges makes the differences in connectivity practically negligible. Both integrate dual-band WiFi, GPS compatible with all satellites, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC… Perhaps the most notable difference has to do with the presence of an FM radio module in the Galaxy A70 and an audio jack for the headphones. The Mi 9 SE, for its part, has an infrared port for remote control functions.
Moving to the section on autonomy, here the distances are greatly lengthened. In technical data, we find 4,500 and 3,070 mAh modules in the A70 and the Mi 9 SE. In a real experience of use this translates into several hours of use of advantage compared to the Xiaomi mid-range. This advantage is also transferred to fast charging technology: 25 and 18 W. Given the difference in capacity, the charging times are rather similar: around an hour and a half in both cases.
Conclusions and price
After seeing the main differences between the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE vs Galaxy A70, it's time to draw conclusions. What is the most worthwhile mobile?
Currently we can find both terminals in Amazon and similar stores for a price of around 290 and 315 euros in the case of the A70 and Mi 9 SE respectively. Due to this price difference we believe that the Galaxy A70 is more recommended than the Xiaomi mobile.
Better battery, performance to match, a camera to match, a much larger screen and the presence of an audio jack for the headphones. The disadvantage of this comes from the hand of the size, excessive for a large public. Only in this case the Xiaomi phone becomes more recommended.
