With the launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro, many manufacturers have trembled at the dreaded competition. It is not for less. This device has some of the most outstanding features of the moment: triple main camera, Snpadragon 855 processor, 12 GB of RAM memory and a 4,000 mAh battery with fast charge. Huawei, which is not going through its best moments due to the imminent blockade by the US government, is able to directly rival this model. You can get it with the Huawei P30 Pro.
Among its main features we can mention four cameras on the back, Kirin 980 processor, 8 GB of RAM or a 4,200 mAh battery with fast charging and wireless fast charging. If you are thinking of buying one of the two terminals, and you really have serious doubts about which of the two could be better for you, do not stop reading. Next we put the OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro face to face. Will there be a clear winner or are they very even?

Design and display
If you like all-screen mobiles, with almost no frames, then either of the two will attract your attention, although it is true that what one gains in one thing the other loses and vice versa. That is, while the OnePlus 7 Pro does not include a notch or notch, or perforation on the screen that distracts the eye, the P30 Pro has added a notch in the shape of a drop of water to the front. The positive, in his case, is that this model curves slightly in the style of the Samsung Galaxy S10, which gives it a more modern and stylish look, it seems as if the panel is better used. You may wonder then how OnePlus has added the front camera to this phone. This is located at the top and is retractable, which means that it only rises to the surface when capturing a selfie.
OnePlus 7 Pro
In terms of measurements, the P30 Pro is somewhat slimmer and lighter than the OnePlus 7 Pro: 158 x 73.4 x 8.4 mm (192 grams) vs 162.6 x 75.9 x 8.8 millimeters (206 grams). If we flip them, both present a modern and minimalist look. OnePlus has decided to take more advantage of the central part, occupying it with the camera and its logo. Huawei, on the contrary, has included the photographic section and logo just in the left corner, so perhaps it has managed to get more out of the space, leaving us a less overwhelming sensation in sight. In any case, both include a fingerprint reader under the panel, a very common feature already in high-end mobiles. Of course, the OnePlus 7 Pro claims to be faster. According to the company, it is possible to unlock it in a time of about 0.21 seconds. Also, with great precision.
And what about the size of the screen? The two are fairly evenly matched, although they confront each other in resolution and technology. The Huawei P30 Pro includes a 6.47-inch curved OLED panel with FullHD + resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) and a 19.5: 9 ratio. For its part, the OnePlus 7 Pro does not have OLED technology, it is AMOLED. However, its screen is larger, 6.67 inches, with a QHD + resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels and a ratio of 19.5: 9. Actually, when it comes to viewing any image or video and navigating, both will offer quite good quality, with a very natural contrast and brightness.
Huawei P30 Pro
In fact, according to OnePlus, more than 4.49 million pixels can be seen on the 7 Pro's panel, and that is exactly what gives it a realistic appearance by showing every detail. Also, the advantage of using OLED technology, as far as the P30 Pro is concerned, gives it more vivid colors and deeper blacks than with traditional LCD screens. In addition, the energy consumption is also lower, so less battery is consumed.
It should be noted that Huawei has wanted to avoid external elements so much, that it has also eliminated the speaker from the top in this P30 Pro, it has only left the bottom one. How is the audio quality then? Thanks to a system that makes use of screen vibrations, combining it with the lower speaker provides surround sound, which does its job with a clean and powerful sound. For its part, the OnePlus 7 Pro boasts Dolby Atmos sound, a plus when it comes to wanting a device with good quality to play videos or listen to music.
Power and memory
At the power level they are very even, but there are some differences that we want to point out. Let's go by parts. The Huawei P30 Pro houses inside a Kirin 980 processor, the same one that we already saw in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It is a chip with 7 nanometer architecture and eight cores, two of them running at a maximum speed of 2, 6 GHz, another two cores at 1.97 GHz, and four more cores working at 1.8 GHz. All this spiced up with two NPU chips for neural processing, which aim to carry out tasks that imply higher performance without consuming hardly any Energy.
OnePlus 7 Pro
This processor is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 128, 256 and 512 GB, to be chosen by the user. The OnePlus 7 Pro comes powered by Qualcomm's latest beast, the Snapdragon 855, an SoC that goes hand in hand with nothing more and nothing less than up to 12 GB of RAM. The result is surprising in terms of performance. The OnePlus 7 Pro is ready to play graphics-heavy games, have many apps open at the same time, or deal with several simultaneous processes with ease. The internal space it offers is 256 GB in UFS 3.0 format. What does this mean? Basically it can read data at a speed of up to 2.4 GB, or what is the same, about 20 times faster than with any microSD card.
Photographic section
And we come to a section that I know is very important to most of you. In this sense, the two terminals behave as what they are: two high-end mobiles. We start talking about the Huawei P30 Pro. This device includes four sensors on its back. The main sensor has a resolution of 40 megapixels with a bright wide-angle lens with focal length f / 1.6. This is accompanied by a second 20 megapixel lens and an ultra-wide angle lens with f / 2.2 aperture. The third sensor is a telephoto lens with optical zoom of up to five times, resolution of 8 megapixels and aperture f / 3.4. In addition, it has OIS stabilization so that we do not get blurry images when shooting them in motion.

Finally, the fourth sensor is called Time Of Flight (TOF). It is not responsible for taking separate captures, but is a lens that is responsible for collecting information about the distances and objects that are part of the photo. This gives us the possibility of capturing with high quality blur. For selfies we have a 32 megapixel front camera with f / 2.0 aperture. In our tests we found that it has a good quality with natural and realistic colors.
The OnePlus 7 Pro does not come with four sensors but with three, however the company has done a very good job with them. The main sensor has a resolution of 48 megapixels and bears Sony's signature (IMX586). The highlight is that the pixels are down to 1.6 microns, so they can be grouped four into one for more information, detail and quality. Its 7-element lens and f / 1.6 aperture are responsible for the brightness. This main sensor is arranged next to a second lens with a 16 megapixel ultra wide angle lens. Its aperture is f / 2.2 capable of reaching a viewing angle of 117 degrees.

And finally we have an 8 megapixel telephoto lens (1 micron in size) with f / 2.4 aperture to achieve distant details. This is a 3X optical magnification, which smoothly resolves distant scenes without loss of detail. However, for this it is necessary that we be in a place with good luminosity to avoid noise in the images. For selfies, the OnePlus 7 Pro has added a 16-megapixel periscope camera (Sony IMX47), with f / 2.0 aperture. As we explained a little above, this is hidden in the back and only comes out automatically when the photo is taken.
Battery and connections
The battery is one of the strengths of both phones, especially the Huawei P30 Pro. Specifically, this model equips a 4,200 mAh with fast charge (40W SuperCharge) and 15W wireless charging. In addition, as if this were not enough, it has a reverse wireless charging option. This feature was launched in the Mate 20 Pro and serves to extract part of the energy of one computer to transfer it to another. When using this system you just have to enter the terminal settings: "Battery, Invert wireless charging", and place another Qi-compatible phone on it to start charging.
Huawei P30 Pro
The OnePlus 7 Pro arrives with a 4,000 mAh battery with Warp Charge 30 fast charging, which allows a safe charge of 30 watts, which translates to a charge of half the battery in about twenty minutes. Regarding the connections, both have Bluetooth 5, GPS, USB type C, NFC, Wifi 802.11 a / b / n / c, Cat. 21 (14 Gbps) and LTE.
How could it be otherwise, in the case of high-end terminals, both models are governed by Android 9 Pie, under EMUI 9.1 in the case of the P30 Pro and under OxygenOS with regard to the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Price and availability
If you want to acquire either of the two teams you can already do it without problems in Spain. The OnePlus 7 Pro is available on the company's official website and authorized distributors in various colors and in three versions depending on RAM and storage:
- 6 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage: 710 euros
- 8 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage: 760 euros
- 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage: 830 euros
OnePlus 7 Pro
The Huawei P30 Pro can be purchased at a price of 950 euros (with 8 GB + 128 GB of storage), or 1,050 euros (with 8 GB of RAM + 256 GB of space), also in several colors to choose from.
Now, at this point, is it worth paying more for the P30 Pro? The answer is no. OnePlus has done a good job with its new flagship phone, which is balanced and excels in each and every one of its features. In addition, it stands out in some things compared to its competitor, such as the UFS 3.0 storage system, which is faster and more energy efficient, as well as in the RAM memory, which can be purchased with up to 12 GB.
