Regarding the back of the two mid-range mobiles, there is little to note about it, beyond the fact that both integrate the fingerprint sensor in the central part of the body.
Finally, it is worth noting the difference in weight between one terminal and another . The Motorola has 176 grams, while the P20 Lite has 146. We must bear in mind that the size of the battery is exactly the same: 3,000 mAh.

The Motorola Moto G7 was launched yesterday along with its three brothers, the Moto G7 Plus, the G7 Play and the G7 Power. The base model, whose price starts at 249 euros in stores like Amazon, makes up Motorola's proposal in the mid-range of 2019. At the front, models like the Huawei P20 Lite have a series of characteristics very similar to those of the G7. And is that if a year ago the price of the terminal was about 380 euros, currently it is possible to find it on Amazon or eBay for a price not exceeding 190 euros, directly rivaling the aforementioned Motorola proposal. Precisely in the middle of 2018 we made our comparison of the Moto G6 against the Huawei P20 Lite. Which one is really worth in this new generation of mid-range phones? We see it in our comparison of the Motorola Moto G7 vs Huawei P20 Lite.

Design
The design section is one of the aspects where we find the most differences, at least in general lines.
Regarding the back of the two mid-range mobiles, there is little to note about it, beyond the fact that both integrate the fingerprint sensor in the central part of the body.
Finally, it is worth noting the difference in weight between one terminal and another. The Motorola has 176 grams, while the P20 Lite has 146. We must bear in mind that the size of the battery is exactly the same: 3,000 mAh.
screen
As for the screen, unlike the design, we hardly find differences in one model compared to the other.
In Motorola's Moto G7, the screen is based on a panel with IPS technology, 6.24 inches in size and Full HD + resolution, in addition to a 19: 9 ratio. The same technology, ratio (18.7: 9, somewhat less elongated) and resolution are found in the Huawei P20 Lite, with the exception of the size, which consists of 5.84 inches.
In the absence of data such as the brightness nits or the viewing angles of the Moto G7, it is expected that the two panels have a similar quality.
Photographic set
Another of the most important sections among users. In this we do find notable differences.
The rear camera of the Motorola Moto G7 consists of two sensors of 12 and 5 megapixels with focal aperture f / 1.8 and f / 2.2. This not only bodes well for results at night due to the focus aperture, but also for portrait mode photos. In this last aspect, the influence of Artificial Intelligence integrated into the processor will help improve the quality of the photographs. Worth noting is that it has the possibility of 4K video recording.
If we refer to the camera of the Huawei P20 Lite, the camera configuration changes radically. Two 16 and 2 megapixel sensors with f / 2.2 focal aperture on the main sensor. The functions of the secondary sensor are limited exclusively to photography in portrait mode, which is predictably worse than that of the Moto G7 not only due to the poorer quality of the sensor, but also due to the absence of Artificial Intelligence. Photographs at night will also notice this reduction in the aperture of focus for both sensors. The good thing is that we will get more defined images due to the 16 megapixel resolution.
Finally, when it comes to the front cameras, things change here. An 8 megapixel camera with focal aperture f / 2.2 is what we find in the Moto G7. The P20 Lite, on the other hand, has a single 16 megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 aperture. This results in higher quality photographs both at night and during the day in the P20 Lite by having a sensor with more resolution and aperture, although the 1.12 um of the size of the pixels of the Motorola mobile should not be neglected. In portrait mode, better results are expected on the Moto G7 due to the integration of Artificial Intelligence.
Processor and memory
We come to one of the most interesting sections of the comparison between the Huawei P20 Lite vs Motorola Moto G7. In the two models we find quite similar hardware.
In the Moto G7, the features we find are based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, in addition to the well-known Adreno 506 GPU. The latter can be expandable via micro SD cards from up to 256 GB.
Regarding the Huawei P20 Lite, the specifications are very similar. Huawei Kirin 659 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage also expandable up to the same amount of memory. The GPU that accompanies this whole set is based on the Mali T-830 MP2.
Which mobile has the best performance? In pure data, the Motorola Moto G7. Not only does it have a more advanced processor and a more powerful GPU, the RAM memory is also based on superior characteristics as it is based on a more modern and therefore fast protocol.
To this is added the integration of a fairly pure version of Android 9 Pie and with hardly any applications. Compared to EMUI's customization layer in version 8.0, Motorola's moves predictably much faster than Huawei's mobile. In terms of autonomy management, both terminals are very similar, although superior in the Moto G7. 14 nanometers in Qualcomm's processor and 16 in Huawei's.
Connections and autonomy
In these two sections, the two terminals have very similar characteristics.
When it comes to wireless connections, both have the same connectivity. NFC connection, Dual WiFi (the one in the Moto G7 has the two 2.4 and 5 GHz bands) fingerprint sensor, FM radio and Bluetooth 4.2. Also both have expansion via micro SD cards of up to 256; the difference is that the Huawei P20 Lite has Dual SIM, while the Motorola Moto G7 is satisfied with only one.
And what about autonomy? Same battery in the two 3,000 mAh models, however, the smaller screen size and the EMUI management in terms of background processes portend a better autonomy in general in the P20 Lite. The good thing is that the Motorola has fast charging.
Conclusions
We finally reached the conclusions of our comparison between the Motorola Moto G7 and the Huawei P20 Lite. For about 60 euros more, and taking into account that the P20 Lite is a mobile from last year, our conclusion is that it is the Motorola model that takes the throne this time if we ignore aspects such as autonomy, which is predictably higher in the P20 Lite. Not only for having overall superior features and clearly better performance, but also for being a 2019 mobile. This makes its durability over time in terms of software support lengthened.
Other aspects that we must take into account is the higher photographic quality of the Motorola Moto G7 camera. In addition, the inclusion of an almost clean version of Android makes this one of the key aspects for many when deciding on one terminal or another. Highlights of the Huawei P20?
Again we mention the greater autonomy by integrating a smaller screen and the reduced size of the device. EMUI also includes a series of indispensable features for some, such as Dual Applications, application lock by password, the ability to hide all kinds of annoying notifications, excellent battery management and background processes and different modes of Downloadable camera. Of course, the price is the most attractive of the terminal, since we can currently buy it for only 190 euros on Amazon. If all these points are important to you, then we recommend buying the Huawei P20 Lite.
