- Realme X2 Pro vs Huawei Nova 5T vs Samsung Galaxy A70s vs Oppo Reno2 Z: which one is worth it?
The last two weeks have been marked by the presentation of several mid-range and upper-middle-range mobiles. Samsung, Huawei, Oppo and Realme are four of the companies that have decided to make a move in the last four months of the year with four mobile phones in particular: the Oppo Reno2 Z, the Realme X2 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy A70s and the Huawei Nova 5T. Beyond their technical differences, the similarity between these four models is their price, which is in the range of 350/400 euros. Which of these is the one that offers more for less? We see it.
Realme X2 Pro: the most complete of the quartet
Probably the best option if we are looking for a mid-range mobile. Although it is not the cheapest of the four, it is the most complete. The main argument of Realme's work is based on four key sections: screen, load, camera and power.
If we talk about the screen of the Realme X2 Pro, we find a 6.5-inch panel with AMOLED technology and resolution, although without a doubt the most remarkable thing is that it has a 90 Hz frequency, a feature that only the OnePlus can boast 7T and the new Google Pixel 4. To this is added the integration of 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of UFS 3.0 storage in its most basic version and a Snapdragon 855+ processor: the most powerful to date.
All this makes the Realme terminal the most powerful, agile and fastest of the four. It also helps its customization layer, ColorOS, which despite not being the most attractive in aesthetics and customization options, is the fastest on Android along with OxygenOS.
As for the photographic section of the device, it uses four cameras on the back of 64, 8, 13 and 2 megapixels with apertures f / 1.8, f / 2.2, f / 2.5 and f / 2.4 and wide-angle and telephoto lenses with up to 20x in hybrid. The results of these four cameras will generally give us a higher quality than most mid-range phones, especially when it comes to the main sensor. The sensor with a wide angle lens, for its part, has an aperture angle of 115º, and the 2 megapixel sensor uses its functions to obtain better results in portrait mode photography.
Although undoubtedly the most surprising thing about the phone is the charge, of no less than 50 W. In numbers it is capable of offering 50% of the charge in 10 minutes and 100% in just over half an hour. Recall that we are facing a 4,000 mAh battery.
Its price? Only 399 euros if we talk about the model with 6 and 64 GB of RAM and ROM. In a few words we can say that it is the best mobile with value for money if you are looking for any of the aspects that we mentioned at the beginning.
Huawei Nova 5T: the great rival of Realme's bet
Very close to the Realme X2 Pro is followed by the Huawei Nova 5T, a mobile that essentially imitates the characteristics of the Honor 20 and whose main argument to fight during 2019 and part of 2020 is based on power, design and cameras.
In terms of power, the company has included the latest of the latest from the house itself: the Kirin 980 along with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Although it is not the winning horse of this 2019 in terms of raw power, there are few differences that we will find in performance, either when opening applications or running heavy games, aspects where the customization layer also influences, either for better or worse.
But where the Nova 5T is clearly superior to its direct rivals is in the design, with an island-shaped notch inside its screen that helps improve the percentage of usable surface. The screen, by the way, is 6.26 inches, although in this case we find IPS LCD technology, a technology clearly inferior to that of the Realme. On the other hand, we find a much smaller and lighter mobile, with a weight difference of more than 20 grams and 0.6 and 0.2 centimeters in height and width.
If we turn to the cameras of the Huawei Nova 5T we are faced with a configuration that in numbers is somewhat lower than that of the X2 Pro, but that follows it quite closely. A 48 megapixel camera, together with three complementary cameras of 16, 2 and 2 megapixels is what makes up the photographic bet of the Huawei model. While the quality of the three 48, 16 and 2 megapixel sensors should not be very discerning compared to the Realme, the macro lens camera should give us better results when photographing close objects. The Realme, on the other hand, offers an optical zoom to capture distant objects with greater definition without losing any detail along the way.
Finally, it should be noted the fast charging system of the Nova 5T, with no less than 22.5 W of power that combined with the 3,750 mAh battery should give us numbers close to those of the Realme. The total charging time, in any case, will be just over an hour.
And what about the price? Its only version of 6 and 128 GB starts at 429 euros. Although the base storage doubles the bet compared to the X2 Pro, we lose some points along the way, such as the screen, the loading speed or the gross processing power.
Samsung Galaxy A70s: when autonomy is not everything
We come to what is probably the poorest bet of the four. Despite the fact that the terminal has not arrived in Spain yet, it is known that its exchange price is about 380 euros. For this price we find a phone that is clearly below the rest of Realme, Huawei and even Oppo phones.
Starting with your processor. Where other manufacturers integrate the most powerful of 2019 Samsung opts for a Snapdragon 675 in combination of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The screen, on the other hand, uses a 6.7-inch panel with AMOLED technology and resolution. In this aspect, it is likely that we will find one of the best Samsung AMOLED panels, yes. The company's bet, however, comes from the hand of autonomy, with a module that reaches up to 4,500 mAh and a 25 W load, quite slow in our opinion considering the capacity of the battery.
As for the photographic section, the differences with respect to the Realme X2 Pro are practically minimal, since both use the same 64 megapixel sensor from Samsung. The rest of the sensors, however, are somewhat inferior in numbers and most likely in final photographic quality. Specifically, the Galaxy A70s has two complementary sensors: one with a wide-angle lens and the other designed to improve the blurring of images in portrait mode.
The final bet remains, therefore, somewhat poor in versatility compared to that of Huawei and Realme. Also the general commitment of the phone for aspects such as hardware or size, something that not a few users will take into account.
Oppo Reno2 Z: the bet on the camera may not be enough
The latest Oppo launch was marked by two terminals: the Oppo Reno2 and the Reno2 Z. By price, the one that interests us is the Reno2 Z, whose starting value starts at 370 euros.
The main asset of the Reno 2Z comes from the hand of the design, a design headed by a motorized camera and a 6.5-inch screen with AMOLED technology and Full HD + resolution. This helps reduce the size of the device significantly, falling halfway between Realme's X2 Pro and Huawei's Nova 5T.
Behind all this set we find the Mediatek Helio P90, a processor whose performance exceeds, to put its power in context, that of the Snapdragon 730. Compared to the rest of the phones in the comparison it is in third place: just behind from Realme and Huawei and ahead of Samsung. In its hardware configuration it is complemented by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Also a 4,000 mAh battery together with a 20 W charging system called VOOC 3.0, the least capable of the four if we take their numbers into account.
As far as the photographic section is concerned, the solution integrated by Oppo does not differ much from the rest. Four cameras of 48, 8, 2 and 2 megapixels, where the greatest virtue is found in the sensor with an 8 megapixel wide-angle lens, with up to 119º of aperture angle, and the 2 megapixel monochrome sensor, whose functions are limited to Capture higher quality black and white images than software processing. The last of the four sensors uses its functions to enhance images in portrait mode. The photographic quality, as a whole, is not very different from that of the Realme and that of Huawei.
Realme X2 Pro vs Huawei Nova 5T vs Samsung Galaxy A70s vs Oppo Reno2 Z: which one is worth it?
Depending on the budget and personal inclinations, the choice of one or another device depends largely on the possibilities and preferences of each one. If our budget is closer to 400 euros than 300, the Realme X2 Pro is the most complete bet of the four, both for screen and cameras as well as for gross power and charging technology.
If we opt for a smaller mobile, the Huawei Nova 5T is the ideal bet, this being the most compact of the four. Betting on the latter is also interesting if we are looking for a phone with a minimum of 128 GB of storage, since in neither of them we find the possibility of expansion through micro SD cards.
In the case of the Galaxy A70s, your bet is interesting if what we are looking for is autonomy and a screen size above 6.5 inches. The rest of the aspects of the device are several meters away from Huawei, Realme and even Oppo. The bet of this last manufacturer with the Reno2 Z remains, unfortunately, in a very rough and difficult terrain, because despite being the cheapest mobile, it falls within a range where devices such as the Xiaomi Mi 9T or even the Mi 9T Pro they shade you for a lower or very similar price.
