On this occasion, we are facing two terminals that, although their price varies a little, may be two candidates for best sellers. On the one hand, we have the Chinese brand Huawei. Its mid-range Huawei P1o Lite is a great terminal that will satisfy those users who do not want to spend more than 400 euros and want powerful specifications. On the contrary, the Moto G line of the Lenovo brand is a guarantee of stability at a low price.
Everything will depend on your pocket and what you demand of your terminal. Will it be worth spending almost double for a P10 Lite having the Moto G5 at half its price? We will try to solve all your doubts in this extensive comparison. We started the confrontation.
Design
We start talking about the design of the Huawei P10 Lite, a mobile built in elegant metal with rounded edges and quite thin. All this gives it a fairly premium look, moving it away from the low-end. Its weight is quite moderate, only 146 grams in dimensions of 146.5 x 72 x 7.2 millimeters. And what is it that gives it the premium look? Besides the metal is its innovative diamond cut.
Rear and front view of the Huawei P10 Lite
This terminal stands out, with respect to its brothers P10 and P10 lite, in that it has the fingerprint sensor on the back. This has its drawbacks: if you leave the mobile on the table you will not be able to unlock it until you pick it up. Nothing that will make us think about your purchase, but good to know. Both the P10 and the premium P10 Plus will have the fingerprint reader on the front.
The Motorola Moto G5 is a mobile that discards the plastic that we find in any low range. Again, we have a terminal with a metal body and whose dimensions and weight do not differ too much from its competitor: 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 millimeters and 144.5 grams of weight. This Moto G5 does integrate its fingerprint sensor in the start button, making unlocking easier without having to take the mobile with your hand.

Neither terminal has resistance to dust and water, although the Moto G5 has a waterproof nano coating resistant to occasional splashes. This means that it is not submersible. Do not try it at home because you will lose all guarantee of claim. The Moto G5 includes Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and the Huawei is still unknown. Hopefully the Chinese terminal has, by price, version 5 of this same Gorilla Glass.
screen
The Huawei P10 lite has a 5.2-inch Full HD screen and a pixel density per inch of 424. These data are very good for those users who want to enjoy multimedia content and do not want an excessively large terminal. The panel is IPS LCD that offers much more natural and less saturated colors than a super AMOLED.
Lenovo Moto G5 has further tweaked its screen size. We have a 5-inch IPS LCD panel with 442 pixels per inch density. Two screens, as we see, very similar, that only vary in size. It is up to you to decide whether it is worth paying a little more for a 2-inch screen if you are only looking at this on a phone. But it's worth reading on: until we get to the end you won't be able to get an idea.
Camera
One of the characteristics that most tip the balance over one terminal or another. The Huawei P10 Lite disappoints in comparison to its bigger brothers, the P10 and P10 Plus. Here we will not find the Leica guarantee seal or the double front camera. But we must also take into account that this P10 Lite costs 300 euros than its older brother the P10 (650 euros).
The front camera of this P10 Lite has 12 megapixels, a focal aperture of f / 2.2 so it will take good photos as long as we have enough light, autofocus and LED flash. The selfie camera gives us 8 megapixels and a better focal aperture than the front one, f / 2.0. Both the main camera and the selfie camera can record videos in Full HD resolution. This section is not, surely, the strong point of this Huawei P10 Lite.
Detail of the camera of the Huawei P10 Lite.
The Lenovo Motorola Moto G5's main camera sensor features 13 megapixels, a focal aperture of f / 2.0, and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). Some better features than in the previous terminal and really remarkable for a terminal that we can find for 200 euros. In addition, we have HD video recording in slow motion. And that's not all: we have x8 digital zoom for photos and x4 for videos. Don't miss any band in concert.

And the selfies? Here they have put the scissors: 5 megapixels and focal length of f / 2.2. Of course, we have a wide angle, so that we all fit in the selfie without having super arms. In addition, it includes flash on screen and beauty mode to look very handsome. If you want a phone for taking selfies, you will have to look at its bigger brother, the G5 Plus.
Processor
And we get to the point where, finally, the Huawei P10 Lite shows its chest and justifies the 150 euros more than its opponent, the Motorola Moto G5. If the economy allows it and you want a terminal that responds well every day, from which you can demand great performance in heavy apps and games… This is your terminal. If, on the contrary, you only want a terminal for daily use of networks and emails and you prefer to sacrifice performance for having a better camera, saving money, the Moto G5 is yours.
4 GB of RAM we have this Huawei P10 Lite, an outrageous figure that is related to the expected Samsung Galaxy S8. A Kirin 658 own processor with eight cores (with four cores at 2.1 and four cores at 1.7 GHz) will make this Huawei able to play games like HearthStone or Asphalt.
The Moto G5, however, has a budget version of 200 euros with just 2 GB of RAM. Buying a terminal with only 2 GB of RAM memory in full 2017 is something that you have to think about a lot. And, above all, taking into account his older brother: for 210 euros we have 3 GB of RAM. I, that you, did not think about it. What is 10 euros when you can have 1 GB more memory? Its processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 at 1.4 GHz speed, an already quite outdated model of the brand.
Memory and operating system
And internal storage? As for the Huawei P10 Lite, we have an acceptable 32 GB that we can increase through a microSD, up to 256 GB. Here, the P10 stands as the winner against the Moto G5: 16 GB seems scarce, at this point. Although we also have an increase of up to 256 GB, the apps always take up space in the internal memory, even if you transfer them to the SD. This means that there will come a time when the 16 GB is full. And it will do so much earlier than with respect to the 32 GB of the P10 Lite.
Both terminals have Android 7 Nougat. Pure in the case of the Moto G5 and with EMUI 5.1 customization layer in the case of the Chinese terminal.

Autonomy
Despite the difference in prices, these two terminals, in terms of autonomy, we can consider that they will go evenly. The Huawei P10 has a 3,100 mAh battery and the Motorola Moto G5 2,800 mAh. And we say that they will be more or less similar in terms of time of use because the Huawei P10 has a larger screen and, that, we want it or not, it shows. Is this a determining point to choose one model or another? Definitely not.
Both terminals will give us an acceptable usage time as long as we do not run heavy applications or games with higher graphic levels. In addition, none of them have fast charging, so we must forget that relief that we have in other higher-end terminals.

Connectivity
And the connectivity? Also here we are not going to find striking differences between one terminal and another. For example, in both terminals we are going to have a microUSB connection, which will gradually disappear. It is surprising, above all, in a mobile like the Huawei P10 whose price is around 350 euros. We can understand that in the G5, whose price ranges between 200 and 210, we have microUSB.
In both mobiles we will have FM radio, NFC connectivity to make payments through the mobile. We only found a couple of notable differences: the WiFi connection of the Huawei P10 Lite is 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac and the Moto G5 of Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n. In addition, in the Moto G5 we have Bluetooth 42 and in the Huawei P10 Lite, Bluetooth 4.1. Both terminals can connect to 4G networks.
Conclusions
Difficult question. One terminal costs almost twice as much as the other. In addition, both have defining aspects: better camera on the Moto G5 and better performance on the Huawei P10 Lite. The decision is in your hand. And in your pocket.
