Thanks to the layers of customization of the different Android brands we can obtain functions that, otherwise, would be difficult to obtain or we would have to go to third-party applications. For example, the MIUI layer, typical of the Xiaomi brand, has among its exclusive functionalities that of offering the user a second personalized space, that is, they can have two different work environments on the same computer. 2 in 1. What is it very useful for?
What is the Xiaomi 'Second Space' for
It may be that you had a Xiaomi mobile and you did not even know that this possibility exists. It may even be really useful: you can configure an environment for work and another for leisure, and thus have each aspect of your life well differentiated. Or have a space for you and another for when you leave the mobile to your child. How is this achieved? Keep reading that we are going to offer you all the keys.
Second space: that's how easy we can create one on a Xiaomi phone
The first thing we have to do is enter the settings application of our Xiaomi phone. Remember that if you have a Xiaomi Mi A1, Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite or Mi A3 you will not have the option of second space, because it does not have the MIUI layer. Once we have entered the settings, we go to 'Special functions' and, finally, 'Second space'. Next, we activate it and give it to 'continue'.
Now, we have to choose how we want to switch between spaces, whether through a password or using a shortcut. In the first step we will have to place a personalized password in the form of a pattern. We can also configure our fingerprint to switch between spaces in order to carry out the step more safely and quickly.
Ready. We have just activated our second slot so we have a new phone on the same device. Now, we can use this new space in the same way that we have been doing with the main space, with the same functions in one and the other. Now it only remains for you to configure what is necessary in this second space, depending on the use you want to give it.
How we switch between spaces in Xiaomi
To return to the main space, again, we enter the terminal settings. Next, we go to 'Special functions' and finally 'Second space'. A new screen appears, through which we can make different settings to manage the new space, such as:
- Show a shortcut of the second space in the first space, to be able to enter more easily. The shortcut will be displayed on the main screen, as if it were one more application.
- Show notifications from the second space in the first space.
These two modifications of the second space can also be made effective in the first space on this same screen.
In 'Changing between spaces' we will enter the first or second space, depending on where we are at that moment. It will ask for your fingerprint but if you did not configure it, click on 'Enter the password'. Remember that if we are in the first space and we want to access the second, we will have to place the pattern we have in our main space. On the contrary, if we are in the second space and we want to return to the first one, we will have to place the pattern that we have configured to create the secondary space.
How to delete the second space created
To permanently get rid of the second space on a Xiaomi phone, we are going to do the following:
We enter 'Special functions> Second space> Delete the second space> Continue.
