Chinese brand ZTE has taken the fair IFA technology in Berlin to unveil its new smartphone ZTE Axon 7 Mini, the little brother of its flagship smartphone ZTE Axon 7 (and which do not yet know exact release date in Spain).
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini is presented as a mid-range terminal with very interesting features, in the line of other terminals of the company: good cameras, fingerprint reader, option to use two SIM cards… This model also highlights the innovative system sound, which the brand has wanted to compare with the systems integrated in high-end terminals such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 or the Huawei P9.
Next we review the most important features of the ZTE Axon 7 Mini.
1. Handy design and 5.2-inch screen
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini has a 5.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen and Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), on a metallic design with hardly any side edges and with speakers located just above and below.
In terms of dimensions, the terminal measures 147.5 mm long x 71 mm wide x 7.8 mm thick, and weighs 153 grams.
It is, therefore, a smartphone that is much more compact and manageable than the ZTE Axon 7 (which has a 5.5-inch screen). The fingerprint reader, as usual in the manufacturer's models, is located on the back, below the camera.
2. Advanced sound system
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini has two speakers on the front, one above and one below the screen. In the official presentation of the smartphone they have announced that it includes an advanced audio system that combines Dolby, AKM and ZTE's own technology to offer high definition sound through both the speakers and through headphones.
In fact, the company ensures that the audio quality is on a par with that offered by high-end terminals such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 or the Huawei P9.
3. DualSIM with powerful interior
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini can be used with two SIM cards or with one SIM and one microSD of external memory to expand the 32 GB of internal storage.
Inside we find an eight-core Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 processor (four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2 GHz), an Adreno 405 graphics card and a 3 GB RAM memory.
4. Battery
The smartphone comes equipped with a 2705 mAh battery, with a capacity slightly below that found, for example, in the ZTE Axon Mini Premium Edition (2800 mAh). In the case of the ZTE Axon 7 Mini, the autonomy could be up to 15 hours in conversation or up to 270 (about 11 days) when idle.
5. Cameras
The main camera is 16 megapixels and is equipped with dual LED flash, while the front camera is 8 megapixels. Expect a number of features and shooting modes in the vein of what we've found on previous ZTE Axon Mini models.
Price and availability
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini will go on sale in Spain on September 7 for 300 euros.
