In this house we have talked to you at length about the dangers of being hooked on our phone. That constant 'fear of missing something' that leads us to look at the screen of our mobile over and over again can produce anxiety, and end up in a depressed state. And we are not exaggerating when we come to the conclusion, seeing the results of the study that stars in this news, that mobile addiction is a real problem that must be addressed, without a doubt, from the first years of contact with this device.
Mobile addiction is a real problem
To prove it, Motorola has carried out a study collecting the opinions of 1,370 Spaniards, 60% men and 40% women to analyze the way in which we interact with our device. An analysis that is part of Motorola's Phone Life Balance campaign. The survey yields data that more than one will be surprised, without a doubt.
The 15.5% of respondents says never be separated from his mobile while maintaining a relationship with him 24 hours of the day but not constantly receive notifications, since 44% of them says that after looking at the phone, had not received no notice, mail, message or notification.
Before mobile than sex
66.6% of those surveyed check the notifications before going to sleep. Furthermore, 72.1% of Spaniards between 20 and 29 years old claim to use their mobile phones before going to sleep, while in bed.
Only 29% of those surveyed claim not to take their mobile phone to the bathroom and 16.4% always carry it when sitting on the toilet. And as a curious fact, 9% of those surveyed in the analysis have admitted having carried out the survey while they were inside the bathroom.
Now come the amazing results. According to 43.3% of those surveyed, it would be easier for them to give up a whole month to have sex or not have contact with their family than to get off the phone. The percentage is higher the older the respondent is, going to 50.5% in the age range of 30-39 years and 51.6% in the age range of 40 to 49 years. Even 10.7% claim to have looked at the notifications on their mobile while having sex.
