The Japanese brand Sony continues in the market with terminals that are well worth taking a look at, although it is true that it has had better times. The last mobile presented to the market, the Xperia XZ Premium, comes to compete, face to face, with high-end terminals such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, the LG G6 or the recently analyzed Huawei P10 Plus. That I get it, is another matter.

Sony update to Android Nougat
According to the official Sonymobile technical support page, only the following terminals of the brand will update to Android 7 Nougat:

We are now going to comment on the dates of each update to Android 7 Nougat, as well as some of the most important specifications of each model.
Xperiaâ „¢ XZ
Sony's XZ series belongs to the high-end, so we can buy it, directly, with Android 7 Nougat. No need to wait for it to update. This mobile has a 5.2-inch screen and Full HD resolution, TRILUMINOSâ „¢ technology and dynamic contrast enhancement. The main camera has 23 megapixels, triple sensor technology and autofocus. Capture snapshots in low light thanks to its ISO of up to 12800. The Xperia ZM's selfie camera is 13 megapixels, ISO 6,400, wide angle.
For everything to go smoothly, the Xperia XZ has a Snapdragon 820 processor and 3 GB of RAM. We have 32 GB to store photos, movies, videos… Which can reach up to 256 GB by inserting a memory card. The 2,900 mAh battery and fast charge closes the specifications section of a terminal that we can buy for € 580 on the official website.
Xperia X Performance
The Sony X Performance mobile is about to receive the update to Android 7.1.1. Nougat, thus enjoying functions such as the multi-window or the shortcuts of icons on the screen. In addition, this update will be accompanied by the security patch corresponding to the month of April.
Among its main specifications, we find a 5-inch screen and Full HD resolution. The main camera has 23 megapixels and a focal length of f / 2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus. On the part of the front camera, we have 13 megapixels and f / 2.0 aperture.
The Snapdragon 820 processor and 3 GB of RAM will be able to with any application and heavy game. As for the internal storage, we have 32 GB expandable to 200 GB with microSD card. The battery is 2,700 mAh, so, surely, we will have to charge the device before the end of the day, if we make intensive use of it. This mobile can be purchased for 500 euros in the official store.
Xperia X and X Compact
These two terminals already have an update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. In the case of the Xperia X, and in addition to the improvements that Android 7 itself brings, if we update we will see how the camera app opens up faster and the possibility, finally, of restarting the terminal, in addition to turning it off.
Regarding the X Compact, on the official Sony website we have the update to Android 7 Nougat available to us, so if you haven't received it yet, you just have to wait very little. There is no official date, but if we already have the update file, we won't have to wait much longer.
These two terminals have a lower price than the X Performance, due in the case of Xperia X, to a more mid-range processor and a screen, in the case of the X Compact, of 4.6 inches. Both terminals are priced at 400 euros.
Xperia XA and XA Ultra
We regret to tell you that there is no date in sight for these Sony terminals. There are not even leaks about it. We can only be aware of any progress of the company in these two terminals. What is certain is that, although there is no exact date, the firm does ensure that they will be updated.
Both terminals belong to Sony's mid-range. The Sony XA has a 5-inch HD screen and a Mediatek processor with 2 GB of RAM. We have 16 GB of ROM memory, a 13-megapixel main camera and a 8-megapixel rear camera. The XA Ultra, for its part, has a larger screen (6 inches) and a main camera with a larger focus aperture. Both terminals can be purchased at a price of 300 euros.
Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium
These three terminals can now be updated to Android 7 Nouga t. The only thing you have to do to see if you already have it available in your terminal is to go to the phone settings and in 'System updates' to see if we have anything pending. These terminals range from 4.6 inches for the compact to 5.5 for the premium. We have HD, Full HD and QHD resolution in the Z5 Compact, Z5 and Z5 Premium, respectively.

This Sony tablet can now be updated to Android 7 Nougat, both its LTE version to use data card and WiFi. Among the improvements of this update, in addition to the advantages of Android 7 Nougat, we will have improvements to the Bluetooth connection, improvements in the volume of calls and web pages and the latest security patches.
This tablet consists of a 10-inch screen and 2K resolution, Snapdragon 810 processor and 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, 6,000 mAh battery and protection against dust and water. You have it at 650 euros in the Amazon online store.
Sony Xperia Z3 +
This 5.2-inch screen terminal, Full HD resolution, IP68 certificate, Snapdragon 810 processor and 3 GB of RAM can now be updated to Android 7 Nougat. You only have to take into account that it has arrived in your geographical area, and if the terminal is free or operator. To see if you can update, go to the settings, to the section 'System updates'.
Other specifications of this Sony Xperia Z3 +: 20 megapixel main camera and 5.1 front camera, FM radio and 2,930 mAh battery. This terminal can be purchased at a price of 320 euros on Amazon.
This is Sony's update schedule to Android Nougat. If your Sony terminal is not on the list, we regret to tell you that Sony does not plan to update it to Andrpid 7 Nougat. Your terminal will already be obsolete for the Japanese brand.
