First of all, download the MIUI 10 ROM for your Xiaomi mobile
Before downloading the necessary tool to install the MIUI 10 ROM on our mobile, we will have to download the ROM file compatible with our device.
In this article, the official Xiaomi website makes a compilation of all the MIUI files that are compatible with installation through Fastboot. We can also choose to search for the words "MIUI 10 ROM Fastboot mobile name" directly in Google. It is very important that the file corresponds to the version of our terminal. Otherwise we can get a hard brick and lose access to the system completely.
Once we have downloaded the ROM in question, we will obtain a TGZ-type file, a file that we will have to unzip for the installation tool to identify it correctly. The content of the folder should be similar to the following image:
Now we can proceed to install the ROM through My Flash Tool, but not without first carrying out a previous process.
Start the mobile in Fastboot mode and connect it to the PC
To install a ROM through Mi Flash Tool we will have to start the phone in Fastboot mode. We can access this mode by turning off the terminal completely and immediately pressing the Power and Volume buttons -. The image that we will get on the screen will be similar to this:
Finally, we will connect the phone to the PC through the original USB cable of the device until our computer recognizes it correctly.
My Flash, the program to install a ROM in Xiaomi
Mi Flash, also known as Xiaomi Flash or MiFlash, is the tool that allows us to flash any ROM on our Xiaomi phone. We can download it from the official website through the following link:
After opening the program with administrator privileges, we will click on the Select button and we will move to the folder where we have unzipped the ROM files. Of all the files housed in the folder, the one that interests us is the images.
With the mobile connected to the equipment, we will click on the Refresh button so that the program identifies the connection of the device. Before flashing the ROM, we will click on the Clean All option that we can find at the bottom of the interface. This option will completely eliminate the data hosted on the device, something that we will have to go through if we want to avoid compatibility problems a posteriori.
Finally we will click on the Flash button to proceed with the installation. When the program has finished the process, we will disconnect the USB cable.
