The Google Pixel 3 XL has a camera that falls in love with almost anyone who tries it. However, as you well know, it is not a technical wonder. In fact, it is one of the few high-end terminals that keeps the camera simple. So where is the secret? In the processing and in the software. And part of these advantages are included in Gcam, one of the most powerful mobile photography applications that exist. Even if it is an application, you have certain requirements to be able to use it. For example, it is only compatible with mobile phones with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This would leave out the high-end terminals that use their own chip. However, they have managed to install it on the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 + and S10e.
Yes, we already know that some Samsung Galaxy S10 has a Qualcomm processor. But they have managed to port the application to models with an Exynos processor, the ones we have in Spain. Specifically, three versions of the application have been developed: day camera, night camera and super night camera.
How to install Google Gcam on Samsung Galaxy S10
Why would I want to install three camera apps on my S10? Google's Gcam application adds extra contrast and sharpness to photos. In addition, it achieves an especially precise crop in Portrait mode. That is, it enhances the photographic qualities of our device. So even if it is a bit uncomfortable to have to resort to three different camera applications, we will achieve better results.
First let's see what each of the applications offers us:
- Day camera: live HDR mode, shutter correction, noise reduction, custom white balance, 100% jpg quality
- Night camera: same characteristics as the day camera but with a different white balance setting, multiple underexposure to 0 and very high HDR
- Super Night Camera - Identical to Night Camera but with custom white balance and shadow saturation
To install the three applications on your Samsung Galaxy S10, the first thing you have to do is download the APKs:
In addition to the corresponding APKs, we also need the XML file with the specific configuration for Samsung terminals. This file must be placed in the GCAM / Configs folder through a file explorer. Once placed here, we enter the Supernight Camera application and click on the space on the sides of the shutter button. A window will open for us to select the XML file.
And we already have it, the three Google Camera applications will be installed and configured with the necessary parameters for the Samsung Galaxy S10.
