The development of mobile technology in recent years has made it possible to turn a simple smartphone into a personal computer. Currently we can make our devices a Swiss army knife in terms of functions and possibilities. An example of this is Huawei, with systems such as Huawei Desktop, which allows us to convert the interface of mobile phones to that of a desktop system using USB cable through an external monitor or television. We can also use the mobile as a webcam through third party applications, an essential element in these times. This time we will show you how to use a Huawei mobile as a webcam in a simple way.
So you can turn your Huawei mobile into a webcam for the PC
As a USB or WiFi webcam. The application that allows us to transform our smartphone into a webcam is DroidCam, developed by Dev47Apps. Previously we will have to download the software that interconnects the phone with the computer. Both packages can be downloaded from the developer's own website, at the following link:
Once we have installed the application on the phone, the tool will show us an interface similar to the one in the following image:
What we will have to do now is paste this same information in the corresponding box in the DroidCam client for Windows or Linux if we want to connect the camera via WiFi. The result should be similar to the following screenshot:
Finally, we will click on the Start button to start broadcasting the image on the computer. If we choose to connect the camera through a USB cable, all we have to do is click on the icon next to the WiFi icon and connect the phone to the computer. In any case, the program's interface will show the image captured by the mobile camera.
From the Android application itself, we can change the phone's camera by clicking on the icon on the top bar of the interface. If we want to zoom in on the image, flip it or activate the flash, we can use the program buttons in Windows. We can also take screenshots and activate autofocus so that the image focuses directly on our face.
If everything has gone well, the application will show the image collected by the camera on the phone.
Can I use my Huawei mobile in applications like Skype or Zoom?
So is. In the event that the program does not automatically recognize the camera, all we have to do is go to the configuration of the program in question.
In general, the configuration panel will show us a section called 'Source', 'Medium', 'Camera' or 'Microphone', from which we can configure the different image, video and sound inputs.
Finally we will select the DroidCam Source option, although it can also be indicated by another name. In the event that no webcam is displayed, it is advisable to connect the mobile to the PC using a USB cable (as long as the Huawei drivers are installed correctly).
