The Samsung Galaxy S10 introduced the wide-angle camera in the Galaxy S family. This lens, which allows us to take pictures with a more open angle, is present in all three Galaxy S10 models: Galaxy S10 + S10 and Galaxy S10e. But we can only access the lens from the Samsung camera app. You can also use it on WhatsApp with this little trick.
To be able to use the wide angle camera of the Samsung Galaxy S10 in WhatsApp you just have to follow these simple steps. First, open the messaging app and enter a conversation. Then click on the camera icon in the text box. You will see that by default the main lens opens and that there is no button or option to switch to the wide angle camera.
What we will have to do is press once on the camera rotate button. When the front camera appears, press the same button again. Now, you will see that the angle of the lens is much greater because it has moved to the wide angle camera. So you can use it whenever you want.
Only available on the Galaxy S10
Unfortunately there is no option to use the telephoto camera that is present in the S10 family models, so the zoom we make will be in digital format. WhatsApp is likely to soon show a button to switch cameras, especially since current terminals already have more than one lens. The strange thing is that this feature is only present on Samsung phones. I have tried it with a Huawei P30 Pro and it does not work. In Instagram we can access the wide angle lens for Stories from the 'Instagram' option that appears in the main camera application. To change the camera in another social network that also uses the lens, we will have to do it from the default application.
