The dark mode in WhatsApp is about to arrive; This is confirmed by the latest leaks from the WABetaInfo Twitter account, and from Tuexperto we already predicted it a few months ago. Meanwhile, the wait is eternal for a good part of users who want to have a black mode in the WhatsApp application for Android. The good news is that, as usually happens in the green android operating system, we can resort to third-party solutions to implement this mode in our terminals. That is why this time we will teach you to install the dark mode of WhatsApp on Android using one of the most famous clients of the application.
As we will use an application that is outside the Play Store, we must activate the Unknown sources box in the Android settings. We can find them in the Security section within the Settings application. Root is not required to use it.
Install GBWhatsApp Plus to have dark mode in WhatsApp
The first thing we will do is download the latest version of GBWhatsApp, which can be found on the official website of the application. After having installed it, granting it the pertinent permissions and having activated the Installation from unknown sources box, we will open it and enter our phone number to access our WhatsApp account.
Once we are in the main screen of the application with all our conversations and groups, we will click on the three points on the top bar and we will give the option of More settings. In this new menu that will appear, we must press the Themes option and then Load.
At this point, we will need to download a black theme that simulates the dark mode of WhatsApp. Currently there are several thousand themes, but without a doubt the one we recommend the most is the one you can find at this link. When we have downloaded it, we will access the previous Upload option again and select the one we just downloaded. The downloaded theme will be applied automatically and we can enjoy a full dark mode.
In the event that we want to modify it to our liking, we will only have to access the More settings option and go to the Customize section. There we can modify aspects such as the colors of the conversation balloons, the appearance of the upper bar and even the design of the conversation screen. The possibilities are endless, although if we want to have a dark mode as faithful as possible, it is best to leave it as it is.
