It is possible that for different reasons you have come here with the idea of deleting all the data on your iPhone and starting from scratch. Either because you want to sell it, or simply because you have to do it for some personal reason, it is a very simple process that will not take you long. Restoring your iPhone to factory settings will erase absolutely everything you have stored. That is, photos, videos, applications, passwords, browsing history… You will leave the device as if you had just purchased it in the store and turned it on for the first time.
Before restoring the iPhone…
Of course, you must bear in mind that before restoring your iPhone to factory settings it is necessary that you make a backup, if you want to keep all the data saved on the terminal. If not, you already know that you will lose everything in the process. You can make a backup using iCloud, Apple's cloud data storage service, or iTunes.
If you opt for iCloud, make sure you have enough space. If you prefer to backup your iPhone with iTunes, the first thing you have to do is connect the phone to a Mac or PC. Then open iTunes and select your terminal. In the Summary section within the menu you will see the Backups section. Click on Make copy now and wait for it to finish.
Restore from iPhone
Once you have the backup ready, you can restore the device without fear of losing everything stored on it. To restore the iPhone directly from the terminal, enter the Settings, General section and scroll down to the bottom of the screen until you find Reset.
Then click Erase content and settings to delete your personal settings and everything saved on the iPhone. Once this process is done, tap on Reset Settings. Enter the code or Apple ID if the system asks for it and wait for the device to erase. Restore from Mac or PC
If you prefer to restore your iPhone from a Mac or PC, it is also very simple that will not take too long. In this case, connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes. To access, you will have to accept in the Trust this computer window and add the device code if the system requires it.
Once done, go to the Summary section. Here, apart from the general data of the device, you will come across the Restore iPhone button. Click on it and wait for the process to finish. The terminal will reboot and start as if it were the first time you have used it.
