It is not unusual that we are forced to restore the initial values of our smartphone. Perhaps we have installed some applications that are generating conflicts in the system, without being able to identify what it is. It is also possible that after a period of use we decide to dispose of the device, either to sell it or to transfer it to known hands, without exposing our private data.
Be that as it may, the Samsung Galaxy S4, like any other smart phone, has a command that formats the memory of the terminal, returning it to the configuration it had the first day we started using it, before entering all the data with which it We link to our user accounts and information. The process is very simple and we will describe it below.
First things first: make a backup. Using Samsung Kies "" the desktop application that acts as iTunes for the phones of the South Korean "" or the Android transfer application "" on Apple computers "" we could rescue the information contained in the Samsung Galaxy S4, and either through a regular backup or taking only those files that we are interested in keeping. Our Android accountIt may also have solved the task with the applications, in case we requested it that way the first day we had the phone in our hands. Once this is done, we move on to the restoration itself.
To begin, we go to the Settings menu of the Samsung Galaxy S4. This is accessible in two ways: the capacitive button to the left of the start key would open a contextual menu, whose last option is the one that interests us; unfolding the notification curtain and locating the gear icon located in the upper right area we would reach the same point. Once there, we will observe four tabs ordering the contents in the highest part of the screen. It is the third of them, identified as "Accounts" that interests us.
The menu that appears after clicking on said tab will present, in a first section, all our user accounts registered on the Samsung Galaxy S4; the second section is presented as "Backup options", grouping two accesses, "Cloud" and "Backup and restore". It is obvious which one we will press now: Factory data reset.
The palette of possibilities that we will have in front of us will allow us to calibrate options to maintain active backups in their first three sections. The fourth will be the one that leads to the system restoration process. It is important that we have carried out the data saving to which we alluded previously, since the process can become irreversible. If we already walk with our backs covered in this sense, we will only have to click on "Reset factory data" and, after a security warning, the process will begin.
It is more than interesting that we keep the Samsung Galaxy S4 connected to the current to avoid that, if we are low on battery, the process is interrupted. The task will take the Samsung Galaxy S4 several minutes, although not too long. Upon completion, the phone will reboot and display the initial settings. Like the first day we took the Samsung Galaxy S4 out of its box.
