Backups, that great ally that we all remember when we have lost our files, photos or contacts. "Why didn't I make a backup?" Is the big question we have asked ourselves more than once. It can happen to all of us that we press "delete contact" by mistake, or they have simply been lost when we reset our Android terminal to factory settings or during root. We are going to show you the way to recover lost contacts on your Android mobile through Gmail. Although it seems obvious, the first thing we should dois to check that our contacts have been deleted by going within the settings menu of your phone to contacts> option see all contacts. Sometimes it does not show us all the contacts, so it is important to make sure that they have been deleted using this procedure.
One of the best options to avoid reaching this situation is to create a Google account on your Android phone and dial automatic synchronization, so you can restore your Android contacts if they have not been over 30 days since they were eliminated. Let's see how to restore contacts if we have this option activated. To check that we have this option activated we have to go to Settings> Accounts> Google and verify that the option to "synchronize contacts" is checked. If so, we open Gmail on our computer. Here we can see all the contacts that are saved in your Google accountand reset them via Contacts> Reset Contacts. Choose the option from your contact list that you want to recover -the one from 10 minutes ago or the one from a week ago for example- and press reset. After doing this, the selected contacts will return to your phone's contact list. If for any reason you want to undo the reset of the contacts in the yellow notification bar that appears on the Gmail screen, you can do so by pressing the "undo" option .
We have seen how to export the contacts in the event that we have activated the synchronization with our Google account. In the event that you do not have it, do not panic, there is also a way to do it. We enter Gmail and in the contacts tab where before we click on "reset contacts" this time we select the "export" option. In the new window that appears, select the option of all contacts and then choose the CSV format to import to a Google account . Click on the export option and the contacts will begin to downloadof your our agenda on the computer. We connect the phone to the computer using a USB cable. A file called “VCF contacts” will be exported. Click on the data storage option for the type of connection and we take the contact file to the internal memory of the phone by dragging.
We go back to the phone and in the "contacts" tab we go to Menu> Manage contacts> Import contacts from internal memory. We select the backup VCF file and click OK. Our contacts will return to the agenda.
