Talkback is one of the Android functions with which you can control your device through voice with gestures on the screen, whether on a Xiaomi, Samsung or other current manufacturers. It is a perfect feature for blind people, or for users who have to use their mobile at a specific moment but cannot see the screen at that precise moment. However, there are times when it is configured without our wanting it, so that if you do not have much control with Android it can be a real headache to deactivate it or find a way to do it.
And is that Talkback completely changes the way you use the terminal. Once this function is activated, it is necessary to perform different gestures or actions guided by the voice of the assistant to do what we would do with a simple press on the panel. This is why, if you are going crazy and do not know how to silence that voice that speaks to you when you touch your mobile, we are going to explain step by step what you must take into account so that it disappears once and for all.
So you can disable Talkback
The Talkback function, which is what makes your Android phone talk to you, is found in the accessibility menu of the settings. Therefore, enter the section settings, smart assistance, accessibility. Once you go into accessibility you will see the TalkBack option. Just click the switch to make it deactivate. Since you already know that you have this function available, it is possible that at some point you will need it. In that case, you can reactivate it from the same section.
And if you are from iOS…
IOS devices also have an option similar to Android TalkBack. This is VoiceOver. In this case, this option is found in the settings section, in General, Accessibility. As in Android, having it activated changes the way you navigate. In fact, you can also quickly activate it by pressing the home button three times (or the side button on the iPhone X and later). Activated, you will hear a description of everything on the panel, from who is contacting you, the application on which you are located, or the battery level you have. You can also set the tone of voice or even choose the speed of speech.
If you can't find the accessibility option under General, or don't want to use the quick access buttons, you can also ask Siri to turn on VoiceOver. As easy as saying "Hey Siri activate VoiceOver" so that your orders are carried out.
