By default, the Xiaomi mobile camera application enables a watermark with the name of the phone. The good news is that we can disable this watermark easily. Unfortunately, MIUI does not allow removing the watermark from photos already taken with the camera. But this does not mean that we cannot do it with third-party applications. With a little skill and patience we can permanently remove the watermark from a photo without resorting to complex programs. Let's see below how to proceed in each case.
First of all, how can I disable the Xiaomi camera watermark?
Disabling the option that stamps a watermark on photos taken through the MIUI camera is very simple. Within the application we will click on the sandwich icon that we can see in the upper right corner. Next, we will click on Settings and finally on the Watermark section, which is in the first position.
Now we just have to disable the Add date or sheet to the photo and Watermark options of the device. From now on, the photos will be made without any watermark of the brand and model of the phone. Nor with the date of capture, as is usual.
How to remove the watermark in photos already taken on Xiaomi
As we indicated in previous paragraphs, deactivating the marking of photos does not imply removing the watermark from the images captured with the camera. For this purpose we will have to resort yes or yes to external applications. The one we recommend from tuexpertomovil.com is Snapseed, a Google application that can be downloaded for free from the manufacturer's store.
With the application installed and open, we will load the image that we want to edit in the Snapseed photo editor. Then, we will click on the Tools menu that we can see in the bottom bar of the editor. Within this menu we can find dozens of tools to edit the photos to our liking. The one that interests us is that of Stain Remover.
As the name suggests, this tool helps to remove blemishes from skin and photography in general. We will use it to remove the watermark. Of course, we cannot perform miracles. If the mark is in a part of the image with various objects and bodies, it will be very difficult to remove it.
After selecting the aforementioned tool, we will enlarge the photo to what the application allows us and we will go over the outline of the watermark with our finger, as can be seen in the capture. We will have to do the same with the rest of the brand until it is completely eliminated. In the event that some kind of visual artifact is generated, we can go back and change the stroke we make with the finger to improve the removal of the mark.
If there is no possible way to remove a certain trace of the watermark or to make an important part of the Xiaomi logo disappear, the last option we can resort to is to cut the photo from the artifact. The interesting thing about this tool is that Google creates by Artificial Intelligence some lines to hide the missing parts of an image. The key, once again, is to play with the limits of the watermark to cut out the slightest trace of the image.
