The sound of the keyboard may seem nice when we have a new mobile, but then it becomes a headache. And of course, you will not be able to go unnoticed in public with the continuous sound of the keyboard while you answer your WhatsApp chats.
But don't worry, it's a problem that can be easily fixed from the keyboard settings.
How to remove sound from Samsung keyboard
If you haven't changed the default mobile keyboard, then you are using the Samsung keyboard. Like any app, it has a configuration section that allows you to adjust details of its operation, and among them, the sound in the tactile response.
To change this setting, just try typing in chat or Google to open the keyboard. Instead of typing, tap that nut or cogwheel icon to go to the Samsung Keyboard settings, as you see in the image:
And now follow these steps:
- Select "Swipe, touch and tactile feedback"
- Choose "Tactile Feedback"
- And disable "Sound"
Once you carry out these steps you will see that you will no longer feel the characteristic sound of the keyboard. One detail to keep in mind is this change only applies to the Samsung keyboard, and does not affect other installed keyboard apps or any other section of the mobile.
Another way to deactivate it is from the mobile Settings:
- Settings >> Sounds and vibration
- Choose "System sounds"
- And disable the option in "Samsung Keyboard".
You can use either of the two methods to remove the sound from the Samsung keyboard. It is not an irreversible action, so you can change the settings as many times as you want.
How to remove keyboard sound on Gboard
If you are not using the Samsung keyboard and have opted for Gboard, don't worry, you can also remove the annoying sound.
The dynamics are almost the same. Open the Gboard keyboard and select the gear wheel to go to Keyboard Settings. And then follow these steps:
- Choose "Preferences"
- Scroll down to “Key Press” and disable “Sound on Key Press”
In that same section you will find the option to adjust the "Volume when pressing the keys". An alternative for those who do not want to eliminate the sound, but wish it to be less powerful.
