MIUI 12 is the latest version of the Chinese manufacturer's customization layer. One of the novelties of this version with respect to MIUI 11 has to do with the Android gesture system. By Google directives, all manufacturers are required to include a white bar at the bottom to interact with the system through gestures. Fortunately, Xiaomi allows you to remove the bottom bar of MIUI 12 in a simple way through the native options of the system, a process that we will explain below.
So you can remove the white bottom bar of MIUI 12 on your Xiaomi mobile
Since MIUI 12 was introduced in May, the Asian manufacturer has started to enable a white bar by default when activating navigation gestures. As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, this bar responds to the directives that Google has imposed from Android 11. And it is that despite the fact that most phones are currently on Android 10, Xiaomi has not wanted to miss the opportunity to homogenize its layer of personalization.
Starting from the previous point, the process to hide the white bar of MIUI 12 is as simple as going to the Additional Settings option within the MIUI 12 Settings application. Next, we will click on the Play full screen section. Finally we will mark as active the option Hide full screen indicator (the name may vary depending on the version of the system and the device), as we can see in the image below.
If we want to re-enable the navigation bar, just uncheck the Hide full screen indicator option. It should be noted that the operation of the virtual buttons is maintained, regardless of whether we activate or deactivate the bottom bar (to the right or left to go back, up to exit an application and towards the center to see multitasking), the advantage is that now we can view the interface in full screen without annoying bars or artifacts in the corners.
