Calls to our most common contacts is something that is within our reach very quickly, as long as we configure them as favorites in the book where we have the complete list. However, if we have a Samsung Galaxy S3, the possibility of having them even closer to hand is something that the TouchWiz layer gives us, which is the South Korean firm's customization for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The idea is that we can transfer a shortcut of the contacts we want to one of the seven screens on the main desktop.
To do this, we have at our disposal several formulas. Each of these have their advantages, as well as their own design. To start the different solutions available, we have to go to the widgets section. This is available to us in two ways. On the one hand, if we press and hold our finger for a couple of seconds in one of the free spaces on the desktop, a contextual menu will open with the Applications and widgets option, which will take us directly to our destination. Another way to do it is to access the usual menu of installed applications, in the upper margin of which we will see, on the right, a tab that leads to the list of widgets.
The widgets "" which are small floating windows and shortcuts that show information in real time "" are arranged alphabetically, so we would have to go to C for Contacts. Once there, we will find four customization options. Each of these will be more or less interesting depending on the available space we have and the number of contacts we want to have on hand from the desktop. The first (4 x 1 Contact) occupies a space of four horizontal cells on the desktop. It shows a single contact, indicating in very large letters the name with which we have registered our friend, colleague or boss.
The next option is limited to a single cell. It will be very useful in two cases. On the one hand, in case we want to install multiple contacts populating the desktop screen individually, and on the other, in case we want to group them into folders, something that we can see once we have described the four options that we have already advanced.
The third possibility that we have occupies eight cells on the screen, at a rate of four columns by two rows. It's called Favorite Contacts, and it allows us to have up to three shortcuts for each widget we install in a fairly generous size. The next and last option expands the one we have just seen, but filling 16 cells, in a ratio of 4 x 4 panel spaces. In this case, there will be nine contacts that we have within our reach in the widget.
We have already said that when we deposit contacts on the desktop screen with individual cells, we are presented with the possibility of keeping a little more order with folders. But to do this, we first have to move a folder to the desktop. We can do this by pressing for a couple of seconds the space of the personal screen where we want to install it, so that we will see the pop-up menu that we talked about at the beginning, but now we will select the option that says Folder. Automatically, a small icon will appear, which we can customize by changing its name. After this, we would only have to drag the contacts that we have on the desktop over the folder icon so that they move inside it, so that, once the operation is finished, we would have them all well ordered.
