Today the first beta of EMUI 9 for the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro has finally been launched. Recently the brand launched a beta program with limited places so that users could receive the beta on their devices without further complication. If you are one of those users, surely the update to Android 9 Pie has already reached your Huawei P20 through OTA. In case you weren't lucky enough to get into Huawei's beta program, we have good news for you: we can install EMUI 9 on the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. Best of all, we won't need to have the bootloader open; We only have to meet a series of requirements and follow several relatively simple steps, which we will go on to detail below.

Requirements to install Android 9 on the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro
As we just mentioned in the previous paragraph, to install EMUI 9 on the Huawei P20 we will need to meet some requirements.
The first of all will be to download the Beta Flashy tool in version 0.2, which will be necessary to flash the system ROM on the smartphone. Once we have downloaded and unzipped it in a folder on our computer, we must install the Huawei USB drivers so that the computer in question recognizes our phone without any problem. When we have installed the drivers on our computer, the next step prior to installing EMUI 9 on the Huawei P20 will be, how could it be otherwise, download the Android 9 ROM. We leave you with the four available depending on the phone model (we must make sure that the serial number matches so as not to cause errors when flashing the ROM).

Have we already downloaded the ROM on our mobile? The last step will be to activate the Development Options, which are necessary to activate two other options. These settings are activated by accessing the Settings application, specifically in About phone within System. Finally we will click several times on the Compilation number section.
After this, we will go back to the System screen and access the Developer Options section. Now all we have to do is activate USB Debugging and Enable OEM Unlock. We can now proceed to install EMUI 9 on our Huawei.

The good starts. After having installed and downloaded all the necessary programs and files, we must move the EMUI ROM file to the same folder where the Beta Flashy program files that we have previously unzipped are housed.
Later we must connect the mobile in question to the computer until the system recognizes the device. Finally we will execute the Flash.bat file and we will follow all the steps that the CMD requires, such as renaming the ROM file or moving it to the ZIPS HERE folder.
When the tool has correctly recognized both the mobile and the ROM, it will begin to flash the EMUI 9 beta on our Huawei mobile. Finally, we will restart our terminal and we will finally have Android 9 on our Huawei P20 or P20 Pro.
We can now try all the new functions of the system, such as the new control gestures, the new parental control, the new interface or the new version of GPU Turbo, among many other new features.
