- Google Camera APK for Xiaomi Redmi Note 8
- GCam for the Redmi Note 8T with MIUI 11
- GCam APK for Redmi Note 8 Pro with MIUI
We have already talked countless times about the advantages that the Google Camera application represents over the native camera application. Being developed by Google for its Pixel phones, compatibility with other Android phones is limited. The good news is that there are a multitude of modified applications in the form of APKs to install on mobiles from other brands, such as Xiaomi. Sadly, these apps have stopped working with the latest MIUI 11 update on models like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, 8T and 8 Pro. For this reason we have compiled some of the APKs compatible with the aforementioned models of the Asian firm.
Google Camera APK for Xiaomi Redmi Note 8
Xiaomi's mid-range model has just received a new port of the GCam from parrot043 based on version 7.3 of the application. The APK in question can be downloaded from this link and it will be enough to install it to make use of all its functions. No external configurations or XML files.
This latest version includes improvements to Astrophotography mode and face recognition. It also has 24 FPS video recording and a somewhat better organized interface.
GCam for the Redmi Note 8T with MIUI 11
Since the Redmi Note 8T has the same hardware as the Note 8, Google Camera version 7.3 is compatible with the latter. At least in theory. It will be enough to follow the same process to install the application on the phone.
The latter is also compatible with other Xiaomi models, such as the Mi 9T and 9T Pro, the Pocophone F1 or the Redmi Note 7. Also with those that have similar specifications to the models that we have just mentioned.
GCam APK for Redmi Note 8 Pro with MIUI
Like the rest of the Note 8 series phones, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has received its share of the cake with the latest Google Camera update to version 7.3. The difference with respect to its homonyms is based on the installation of an XML file to optimize the operation of the application to the Mediatek processor of the terminal.
The application can be downloaded through this link. To download the configuration XML file we will have to click on this other link. Once we have installed the application in question, we will have to go to the internal memory of the phone through an advanced file explorer; more specifically to the root of storage.
Within this location we will have to look for a folder with the name of Gcam. It may be the case that the folder does not exist: just create it with the same name ("Gcam", without the quotation marks) through the file browser options.
The next thing we will have to do is create another folder named Configs within GCam to move the configuration file that we have previously downloaded. Now we just have to go to the Downloads folder and copy the uzai-illusions-of-colors-for-7.3.xml file to paste it immediately into the folder we just created.
The last step will be to apply the configuration of the XML file through the GCam application. To do this we will have to click a total of two times on an empty part of the interface, as we can see in the image. Finally we will select the XML file and click on OK so that the restoration is successful. We recommend you restart the system to avoid conflicts with the configuration.
