At tuexpertomovil.com we have already mentioned on countless occasions the advantages that Google Camera represents in terms of photographic quality. The bad news is that the app is only compatible with Google phones. And is that although there are versions adapted to other brands, the truth is that the original experience is only guaranteed in phones with Snapdragon processors. This is not the case with some Samsung mobiles, such as the Galaxy A70 or the Galaxy A50.
While the first has a Snapdragon processor, the second uses an Exynos processor. However, there are versions compatible with both phones in APK form through a series of steps that we will detail below. Because the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 have very similar hardware to their predecessors, most versions of the GCam are compatible with newer Samsung models.
Samsung Galaxy A50 and A51: download and install the Google Camera APK
Due to the type of hardware it has, the versions of the Google camera available for the Galaxy A50 and A51 are not as functional as expected. Currently the most recent, stable and functional version that we can find for this model is 6.1.021, which we can download through the link that we will leave you below.
The version in question supports the Night Shift function of the original application. To install it, just enable the installation of applications from unknown sources in Settings and then run the APK. We have tried to run the application on a Samsung Galaxy A51 and the operation is quite faithful to the original, although some functions such as Portrait mode or Night mode have not been able to start correctly.
If the version linked above does not work reliably on our phone or we simply want to resort to other versions of the same application, we can resort to the following modifications:
The installation process is the same in both cases, although correct operation is not guaranteed.
Samsung Galaxy A70 and A71: download and install the GCam APK
If we have a Galaxy A70 or Galaxy A71, the procedure to install the Google Camera APK is exactly the same. Not so the versions available for the phone, since it has a Snapdragon processor signed by Qualcomm. In this case, we can install the latest version of GCam, which is currently reaching its seventh iteration.
The linked version is compatible with both Android 10 and Android 9 Pie. We have tried to perform the test on a Galaxy A71 and the operation again is more than correct. In case the application does not work correctly we can resort to the following modification:
It should be noted, however, that this modification is only compatible with Android 9 Pie.
Google Camera does not work on my mobile, what do I do?
Gcamator is the solution in case none of the linked applications have worked correctly on our phone. It is a tool that we can download in the Google store whose sole objective is based on listing all the Google camera applications compatible with our device.
The last option is to browse the XDA Developers threads to find a compatible version for our phone.
