The smartphone Sony Xperia Z2 of the Japanese company Sony incorporates an interesting option that we can take pictures with blurred background. This option, whose exact name is " Defocus Mode " and whose function we have highlighted in our analysis of the Sony Xperia Z2, is also available for another mobile in this range: the Sony Xperia Z1. Next we are going to explain step by step how to activate the out-of-focus effect on the Sony Xperia Z1, something that will probably be very useful for photography lovers who own this mobile.
To follow this tutorial we only need a Sony Xperia Z1, Internet access (we can even use the 3G / 4G data connection) and an account in the Google Play application store associated with our mobile. From here on, we only have to follow the steps indicated below.
How to install the out of focus effect on the Sony Xperia Z1
- First of all, we must proceed to download the official Blurred Background application that Sony has published in the Google Play store. This application occupies a space of approximately 7.1 MegaBytes and is available for download under this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.backgrounddefocus&hl=es.
- Once we have downloaded the application, our mobile will automatically proceed to install it.
- Now we must go to the Camera application of our mobile. We open the application and we will see that the traditional circle-shaped button appears in one of the corners that allows us to switch between one scene and another to take the snapshot.
- If we click on this button, a list of photography modes will be displayed, among which we can now find the " Defocus Mode ". This is precisely the photography mode that allows us to take snapshots in which the background will be blurred.
- To take the photograph with the focus out of focus, we simply click on this option and take the snapshot normally. Of course, from Sony it is recommended that the object on which we want to focus the photograph is about 15 centimeters from the mobile camera.
- Once we have taken the picture (the automatic mode will take a couple of snapshots almost simultaneously, so we must avoid moving the camera at all times), we will see that a new screen will open in which we can customize the blur mode that we want to apply to the image.
- The right part of this screen includes a button that we can slide up and down to increase or decrease the blur, while the three buttons at the bottom serve to switch between the different existing blur modes.
- Once we have found the perfect balance in the image, click on the circular button on the right to save the photograph on the mobile.
