We have already told you countless times about the advantages of the Google Camera application, also known as GCam or Google Cam. This tool allows us to bring the Google Pixel experience to any Android mobile with a Snapdragon processor. The problem is that it requires a series of modifications to function properly on other mobiles. In terminals such as the Xiaomi Mi 9, the Mi 9 Lite or the Mi 9 SE, the compatibility with the Google Camera APK is quite good and the number of versions available is considerable. This time we have compiled some of these versions to install on the terminals of the Chinese firm.
Download and install the Google Cam APK on the Xiaomi Mi 9
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is the mobile that shows the best compatibility with the Google Camera application. Precisely because it has the same processor as the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The most stable modification that we could find for this model is based on version 7.2 of the Google Cam. We can download it through the following link on the XDA Developers page.
In the page that we have just linked we can also find the XML file necessary for the application to work correctly. Once we have downloaded all the necessary files, we will have to install the Google Camera application on the Xiaomi Mi 9 as if it were a normal application. Next, we will copy and paste the XML file in the GCam / Configs7 folder that we can find in the root of the storage. If the folder in question does not exist we will have to create it manually.
Finally we will open the Google Cam application and double click on an empty part of the interface to load the XML file, as we can see in the image above. Now we will only have to restart the application for the configuration to be applied correctly.

The compatibility of the Mi 9 Lite with the GCam is somewhat more limited than that of the Mi 9. Although there are modifications based on version 7, the most stable that we have been able to find is based on version 6.2, recently updated by the team of support. The good news is that we won't have to apply any kind of XML file. All you have to do is install the application and start it to start using its functions.
We can download it from the Cyanogenmod page through this link, but not before activating the security options that allow us to install applications from third-party sources.
GCam for Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE does have a wider compatibility with the GCam. The latest version developed for this mobile is 7.0. It is not the most stable, since it has some lag and performance problems, but it implements the latest Google Camera functions, such as Astrophotography mode or Pixel Night mode. Again we can download it from the Cyanogenmod website through this link.
From this same page we can download the XML file necessary for the application to work correctly. The application process is similar to that of the Mi 9, as well as the steps to follow.
I am not convinced by these applications, are there alternative versions?
So is. This website by Celso Azevedo, renowned Android programmer, collects all the versions and modifications of the Google Camera for Android. We can test one by one to see if they work correctly on our device. We can also use the Parrot043 repository to download as many versions of GCam.
