As in desktop systems, Google Chrome is the most used browser on Android mobiles. Unfortunately, the mobile version of the browser does not support the installation of extensions through the Google Chrome Store. This is the reason why we cannot install Adblock and other similar extensions to block ads on mobile, at least until now. Weeks ago we saw how to activate the dark mode in Google Chrome for Android. This time we will show you how to install Adblock in Google Chrome for Android.
Adblock Plus in Google Chrome for Android: so you can install it
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, the official version of Google Chrome for mobiles does not support the installation of extensions. Fortunately, there is a modified version of the latter with identical functions and interface that does allow you to install Adblock Plus.
The application in question is called Kiwi Browser, and it can be installed from the Google Play Store by clicking on this link. Once we have installed it on our mobile, we will open it and access the Google Chrome Store through this link.
From now on the process is exactly the same as Google Chrome for computers. We will only have to look for the extension in question (Adblock, Adblock Plus, uBlock…) and install it by clicking on the homonymous button.
Once we have installed it, we will click on the three options points in the top bar of Kiwi Browser and we will access the Extensions section. Finally we will activate the extension in question in case it is not active and automatically all the ads will be blocked by default.
How to set up Adblock Plus on Android
Like Google Chrome for Windows, Kiwi Browser allows us to configure all the extensions that we install.
In this case we will have to click on the Details button in the extension in question within the Extension section and access the Extension Options section. Then, all the native options of Adblock for Google Chrome will appear.
Unblock ads from a certain website, block certain websites, block ads according to the ad domain, block pop-ups… In short, everything we can find in the original extension.
