Shopping can become quite a tiring task. Looking at everything in the pantry and selecting what to buy is essential when making a suitable purchase adjusted to our own needs. And to make a good shopping list, of course, we are going to be able to use our mobile phone. More specifically, the personalized assistant that we all have pre-installed on our Android device, the one already known to all as Google Assistant.
Have you never made a shopping list through Google Assistant? Well get ready to put aside any note application you have installed. Making the shopping list using Google Assistant is extremely comfortable and simple. So don't hesitate, go to the kitchen, open cupboards and pantries and start making a new shopping list, simply using the Google Assistant.
Set up your Google Assistant
The first thing we have to do is if, indeed, we have our personal assistant properly configured. To do this, let's say, out loud 'Ok Google'. If we have it properly enabled, a new pop-up window will open in which the phrase 'How can I help you' appears?. If it does not appear, you must go to your Google application, enter the 'More' menu at the bottom and, through this menu, access the voice settings.
When you have the Google Assistant properly configured, we repeat the voice command 'Ok Google'. Next, we have to tell you to create a new shopping list. When you have created it, we will have to start 'singing' the items we want you to include in the list. One of the main drawbacks we have when creating a shopping list with the Google Assistant is that it is much more convenient to add items one by one. If you want me to add several elements at the same time you will have to say 'Ok Google, add eggs AND milk AND vegetablesto the shopping list, always adding 'Y' to the items. However, we recommend that, as the items in your house run out, you add them. When you already have a good number of them, you can go to the store and buy them.
To add items to the shopping list, we just have to tell the assistant ' Add X to the shopping list '. In order to see the shopping list, we will have to tell our Assistant 'Show me the shopping list'. It is surprising that Google has not yet included that option, directly, in the Assistant itself and what it does is send you to an external website where you can move the items (by holding them down and moving the side stripes mark up and down), mark them as purchased, move them together, etc. If the shopping list identifies the item you have added, it will identify it with a nice miniature, as it appears in the screenshot. In addition, you can share the shopping list with any Google user, adding it through the shopping list screen itself.
It's that simple to make a shopping list through the Google Assistant. If you make the list in advance, your pocket will appreciate it because that way you will not buy anything more.
