During these days we have had the opportunity to thoroughly test the new Sony Xperia Z3, the successor to the previous Sony Xperia Z2 from the Japanese company Sony. One of the sections that Sony has insisted the most to highlight the novelties of this smartphone is the Camera application, which is presented with a total of six new camera modes that were not installed as standard in the Sony Xperia Z2. Therefore, this time we are going to take a deep look at all the news and all the features with which the Camera application of this mobile is presented. Let's discoverhow the Sony Xperia Z3 camera works.
The first thing we must know to know how the Sony Xperia Z3 camera works are the different image modes that it includes among its options. These image modes are the ones that allow us to personalize the photos and videos that we take with the mobile, and in the case of the Sony Xperia Z3 the available options are the following: Superior automatic, Manual, Photo with sound, Fun AR, Multi-camera, dual capture, 4K video, Timeshift video, Live on YouTube, defocused,AR effect, Creative effect, Info-eye, Timeshift burst, Social live and Sweep panorama. All these options have a different function, so let's get to know them more thoroughly.
The " Superior Automatic " mode and " Manual " mode are those that allow us to customize the settings of the mobile camera when taking pictures. The " Superior Automatic " mode is responsible for automatically configuring the camera settings so that when taking a picture we only have to worry about pressing the camera button, while the " Manual " mode allows us to configure manually all scene options ( landscape , night scene , portrait , etc.) and all lighting related options.
The " Photo with sound " mode allows us to take photographs by simultaneously recording a few seconds of the ambient sound around us (the sound of birds, for example). Then we can reproduce the sound of the photograph by pressing the " Play " button that will appear on the images with sound that we have made from the mobile.
Modes " fun RA ", " AR effect " and " creative effect " are designed to be personalized with pictures, animations and text pictures and videos that we make with the camera of the Sony Xperia Z3. The most curious mode of all is that of " funny AR ", since it allows us to add virtual objects to the scene that we are capturing with the camera, in such a way that if -for example- we draw a crown on a table, even if we move the sideways camera that crown will still be present in the same place where we had drawn it. In short, these are three fun camera modesthat will especially appeal to the little ones in the house.
The " Multi-camera " and " Double capture " are the two most notable new modes of the Sony Xperia Z3. The " Multi-camera " mode allows us to make a video recording using, in addition to the main camera of our mobile, the cameras of up to three additional Xperia mobiles. This means that we can record a video with four different points of view that will appear in the form of grids within our recording. The " Double capture " mode, meanwhile, allows us to take photos and videos using both the main camera and the front camera simultaneously.
Modes " 4K video," " Timeshift video " and " Live on YouTube " are exclusively focused on video recordings. Through " 4K Video " we will be able to make video recordings with the highest resolution (at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, to be exact) and with a quality significantly higher than that of the videos that we record through conventional mode. The " Timeshift video " mode allows us to record videos in slow motion, while the " Live on YouTube " mode gives us the ability to broadcast live on the YouTube platform.
The rest of the modes are those of " Background out of focus " (allows taking pictures with blur in the background), " Info-eye " (allows obtaining information about the places -and their surroundings- that we immortalize with the camera, which can result from very useful in the event that we are visiting an unknown city), “ Timeshift burst ” (allows you to choose a single photograph from a burst of snapshots), “ Social live ” (related to Facebook) and “ Photographic sweep ”. On the other hand, from the “Downloadable” tab we have the possibility of installing other camera modes such as “ CamScanner - Phone PDF”(Allows you to scan documents through the camera),“ Vine ”or“ Motion Shot ”, among many others.
With regard to conventional photographs, the maximum resolution that we can obtain from the Sony Xperia Z3 camera is set at 5,248 x 2,952 pixels ( for an aspect ratio of 16 : 9, while if we choose the ratio of 4: 3 can achieve the maximum resolution of 5248 x 3936 pixels).
In the next few days we will publish our Sony Xperia Z3 test, where we will include some real examples of the camera options that this smartphone has.
