EMUI 10 is the latest version of Huawei's system that is being rolled out internationally right now. As is often the case with manufacturer layers, the Android version may vary depending on the phone. In this way we can find Huawei phones with Android 10 and EMUI 10 and phones with EMUI 10 and Android 9 Pie. The update to the latest iteration of Android depends entirely on Huawei: if there is no version of EMUI based on the latest Google launch, we will not be able to force the update to Android 10. Otherwise, we can proceed through the methods that we will detail below.

In the event that our phone is on the list, the next thing we will have to do is check if there is a new update outside the corresponding section in Settings. For this, we can resort to specialized forums such as XDA Developers or HTCmania.
Check if there is an official EMUI beta for your phone
Before presenting the stable versions of EMUI, Huawei uses to launch a series of programs in the form of beta versions to test the different novelties of the new update. Participating in one of these beta versions is as simple as downloading the Beta application on the official Huawei website. We will have to
Within this application we will register our device through the creation of a Huawei user account. To register in a beta program we will go to the Personnel tab and then to Join the project.
In case there is a trial version, the tool itself will notify us in the Available Projects tab. Of course, the number of places is usually quite limited, so we will have to be fast if we want to participate in the programs of the Chinese firm.
Another aspect that we must take into account is that one of the requirements to install the EMUI trial versions we will have to periodically report the different errors that we find on the phone. Otherwise, the company reserves the right to expel us from the program.
Once we have accepted the update, it will appear in the corresponding section in Settings with a different name than usual.
Use HiCare to force the EMUI update
HiCare is Huawei's tool to manage the support of our phone. From this same application we can check the phone updates in isolation to the EMUI Settings application. In case the application is not installed on our device, we can download it through the following link.
Once installed, all you have to do is access the application and click on Update. It will automatically start looking for a new version for our device.
Firmware Finder: the best application to update to EMUI 10
It is an application other than Huawei and Honor that forces the update of any model of the two brands. The application in question can be downloaded from the Play Store.
Once installed, we will only have to indicate the model of our device. Then, the tool will show us a list with all the EMUI versions available for our device.
To download a specific version we will have to click on the update package and then select one of the available installation methods. The option we recommend selecting from tuexpertomovil.com is to update via eRecovery.
This option will force the system to find the latest version available by changing the DNS of our phone for those of the application. This adjustment can be carried out through the WiFi section in Settings.
We will only have to click on the WiFi network to which we are connected and then on Modify network. In IP Settings we will select static IP and finally paste the DNS address indicated by the application. It is recommended to use a different IP to avoid occupying an IP that has already been previously occupied (192.168.1.64, 192.168.1.79, 192.168.1.25 etc.).
When the DNS change has been made correctly, the next step will be to go back to Huawei Firmware Finder and click a second time on the package we want to install. Now the application will start to apply the corresponding settings within the system.
Once the relevant changes have been applied, we will finally have to go to the System section in Settings to check the existence of new updates. If the application works correctly the system will detect a new update that we can download as if it were an ordinary application.
