The smartphones of the iPhone range of the American manufacturer Apple incorporate an option that allows us to format - that is, delete - all the data that we have stored in the terminal. It is an option that is available from the mobile configuration window, and precisely in this tutorial we will explain where to find this option and how to use it to format an iPhone in a matter of seconds.
To follow the steps that we indicate in this tutorial we need to have an iPhone in any of its most recent versions in recent years (iPhone 5S, iPhone 4, etc.). From there, all that remains is to follow the steps indicated below to leave our terminal as it came from the factory. If we are thinking of selling our mobile, the ideal is that we carry out this tutorial before handing over the terminal to its new owner.
How to format an iPhone
- The first thing we must do is enter the configuration window of our mobile. To do this, we unlock the screen and enter the " Settings " application, which is normally represented by the icon of a gear.
- Once inside the application, we must look for the " General " option to click on it. Again, this option is also represented by a small gear icon.
- Now we slide down the screen and we will see that, at the end of the window, an option of " Reset " appears. Click on this option and a new window will open with a multitude of options related to data deletion.
- Since in this case we are interested in completely formatting the mobile, we must click on the option " Delete content and settings ".
- By clicking on this option, the terminal will most likely ask us to enter the lock code to continue with the formatting process. We enter the code and click on the icon that will allow us to continue with the formatting.
- Now the terminal will ask us to confirm that we are sure that we want to format the iPhone. To continue with the process, we simply have to click on the option " Delete iPhone " that appears highlighted in red.
- From here we can only wait for the terminal to delete all the data and settings stored on the mobile. This process can take several minutes, so we must be patient and wait for the formatting to finish.
If what we want is to sell the iPhone, it is also recommended that we unlink our iCloud account from the terminal in order to prevent the next owner from having access to any of our private data. Both the formatting process and the unlinking process are very simple and affordable for any type of user, so we should not be afraid to follow the steps in these tutorials.
