If your mobile is on the list and you have not yet updated to MIUI 11, try these little tricks that can force the update.
Force the update to MIUI 11 or download the official ROM
First, enter the settings of your terminal and click on 'About the phone'. Then, go to 'System updates' and wait for the screen to update. If it tells you that there are no updates available, don't worry, keep trying by pressing the 'check for updates' button several times, as it may be difficult for it to appear the first time. This happened to me personally and I had to force the update up to three times.
It may also work if you change the region of your mobile to another country, for example Andorra. In the mobile settings, in the search bar, we write 'region' (without the quotes) and a result will appear. Click on it and, within the list of cities and countries in the world, choose 'Andorra' or any other area of the European Union. This procedure is totally safe. Next, we return to the 'About the phone' section and perform the same action again, updating the screen.
You also have at your disposal an application developed by third parties called Downmi with which you can access the latest stable ROM version of your Xiaomi phone. You just have to look for the model of your terminal, then click on 'Global Stable' and then download it to your phone. Once you have downloaded it, we proceed to install it as follows.
First, we are going to copy and paste the downloaded ROM into the 'downoladed_rom' folder using a file manager. We can use the one that is predetermined on your Xiaomi mobile. Then, we go again to the 'About this phone' section and in 'System update' we click a few times on the logo until a small temporary warning appears. Then, click on the three-point menu and choose 'Select update package'. We look for the 'Downloaded_rom' folder and select the ROM that we have previously downloaded.
Some tips for a good ROM update
Before updating your phone to MIUI 11 you must take into account certain things:
- You must have your mobile charged at least 80%. If your battery runs out during the update, you can run out of phone and recover it can be quite an odyssey for the inexperienced user.
- After a version update, the user should format the phone completely. Before doing so, keep in mind that you will lose all your data, so you should make a backup copy of it, save it on your PC and, once the mobile is formatted, dump it again.
- In the first charge cycles your battery may not perform at 100%. Give the system time to settle, it is not your mobile's fault.
